How California is like Iraq?
Before the war in Iraq, millions of people marched against it and tried every way possible to tell the American people the results of such an invasion. We were ignored. Some of the media were cheerleaders for the war and the rest were noncommital, at best. They reported the Bush propaganda without question.

Now we have an election about to hapen in California. Fifteen women, so far, have come forward to say they were sexually harassed or assaulted. We are being ignored again. The media is in the same mode. Some are cheerleading for Arnold to win and the others are reporting the sexual harassment as if it is just another dirty trick of the Democrats and the Davis campaign. What's the exit strategy if the stories are true? California will also be in a quagmire?

1. Well,
I'm not sure this analogy works; for one thing I don't think the media has been in lockstep between Arnold the way they were behind Iraq. I mean the LA Times has run all those stories delineating Arnold's disdain for women. And latest polls show that as hurting his campaign. Of course his supporters, including conservative media voices, are trying to downplay the accusations, but the story is out there.

2. But the LA Times itself has been vilified for running the story....
Like, "why did they wait so long"?

3. CA is like IRAQ in the way
the media is handling Arnold. From National coverage, you would bever know that the poling shows the No on recall statistically tied with yes and gaining again. Only saw one reference to this on MSNBC.Saturday night/Sunday AM. Arnold still leads among candidates but his lead is reversing , and it's moot if the recall doesn't pass.
It appears the public is disgusted with the whole mess , and sees no viable alternative to the present situation.

Funny the most accurate polls available never seem to make it into the news loop.

4. And Gray Davis is like Saddam Hussein?
I wonder how many atrocities he has committed?
