Poll question: Who is your favorite cnn host?
I'm limiting it to hosts of shows not reporter (but I do love Christiane Amampour (sp?) and Cafferty of late)

1. Meh. Anderson is the best they have. I say they need to
bring back Mike Malloy and put him front and center.

24. Nah, Mike is the real deal, he would PROVE how they make him
want to vomit blood.

Gross, but true.

None of the above? None available? Don't know? Don't care? Refused? Work with me here, there's gotta' be another choice available.

3. I think Anderson Cooper will run away with this
However BEFORE KATRINA, I think Aaron Brown might have won in a close one.

7. Aaron Brown is still my favorite
I do like Anderson, but before Katrina I tended to watch Hardball (and Mathews drives me nuts!) at that time slot simply because 360 had so many fluff topics

4. Christiane Amanpour would have blown everyone else away!
Edited on Thu Sep-15-05 02:30 PM by Totally Committed
But, I voted for Cooper because of his amazingly compassionate and fair reporting from and since Katrina.

I have always liked Aaron Brown, too.

That havong been said, as soon as the Katrina stuff is over, I resume my boycott of CNN until they start covering the Bush administration far more honestly.

so Cooper got it. He's been really good and I like him.

12. Christiane Amanpour is apparently not allowed to broadcast from the US.
When is the last time you've even seen her on CNN? They keep her on the CNN International broadcasts.

19. She was in New Orleans
That's when we believed CNN was serious about exposing Junior's failures, when we saw her reporting from there.

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0509/08/pzn.01.html (well down the page):

CHRISTIANE AMANPOUR, CNN CHIEF INTERNATIONAL CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): Police cars escort refrigerated trucks full of bodies collected from the floodwaters of New Orleans. This is how the federal government says it wants to pay respects to Katrina's victims, many of whom still languish in the disease-ridden waters.

Here in the tiny town of St. Gabriel, nearly 70 miles from New Orleans, FEMA has turned a massive, 125,000-square-foot warehouse into a morgue to process and identify the bodies. Medical examiners have now started round-the-clock operations to X-ray, photograph, fingerprint and take DNA samples from the victims.

Mayor George Grace says the dead could exceed even the town's own population of 6,000. GEORGE GRACE, MAYOR OF ST. GABRIEL, LOUISIANA: This is our contribution to the overall tragedy. And this is the only role that we were chosen to play, and we intend to play that role.

14. I purposely left her off because I know everyone loves her
but unfortunately we the public doesn't get most of their news from her reporting.

God, I would love it if she had a program of her own!

26. For pure looks - news anchor Betty Nguyen
But I would say it's a tossup between Anderson Cooper and Aaron Brown. The latter two have both disappointed me greatly at times and also heartened me at others.

But Betty Nguyen is the one I most like to ogle.

32. My reason for choosing Aaron is because of his Iraq coverage
he must have great producers because he does some very touching segments. Did anyone see the piece he did on all the casualties with the last name Smith? It was beautiful. He knows how to make people see our soldiers as individuals instead of just numbers.

I also like how he rolls his eyes at Bush all the time (he is very subtle, but you can see he can't stand Bush)
