Arnold's female fans blame the woman he manhandled, not him. Pathetic.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A49137-2003Oct5.html

SNIP...." In Modesto on Saturday afternoon, three young women admired Shriver's prominent cheekbones and declared afterward that they needed to diet. "Then maybe I'll get someone like Arnold," said Tiffany Lopez, 21, who "definitely, definitely" planned to vote for Schwarzenegger -- her first vote, ever. The women issue? "Not an issue at all," she said. "I'd let him grope me any time!"

Other women said much the same. Or they said that they were sure the women who accused Schwarzenegger of molesting them had instigated the incidents. Osborn, the computer engineer, said that she had seen Schwarzenegger on two occasions in Orange County many years ago, when he was Mr. Universe and her ex-husband, a body builder, had taken her to competitions. "The women were all over him," she said. "He didn't care about them; they wanted him."

OMG what has happened to our country?

17. or Girls Gone Wild
Edited on Mon Oct-06-03 10:20 AM by Woodstock
or that dating show - forgot the name - is it Elimidate? or the other one where the girls take their tops off in the hot tub on national TV? all for attention and 15 minutes of fame. Some day maybe they will learn they are giving up any chance for attaining personal power in our society, not to mention self-respect and peace of mind. They see Britney get away with this behavior, and she makes lots of money and get lots of attention. What they fail to realize is she's one in a million, and they will never be in her shoes.

These people would fit in nicely in the Roman Empire - one of Caligula's bashes? It's times like these that I can almost sympathize with the holy rollers who say we are a depraved nation - but then I regain my sanity, and recall how they want women to obey the head of the family (the male) staying home and keeping house, not having reproductive choice (or much of any choice, really), and instituting a state religion (their brand of Christianity that in no way, shape, or form resembles anything Jesus ever said or did.)

And the blame the victim attitude is nothing new..Ted Bundy had women all over him too. Who knew?

5. Yes, I did!
I was an honor student in college, married, with a kid on the way. I would never have acted like that.

Well......maybe once....when Elvis came to town. Oh, wait, when James Dean died.....I was frantic.... but other than that...by 21 I outgrew stuff like that.

21 is too old to think like that.

3. I read an interesting op ed piece in the Plain Dealer today
What if Arnold were groping men and not women? Even if Arnold were female and doing that he would be toast. I hadn't really thought of that to be blunt but it sure put it in some perspective. Also I, for one, don't find him that attractive but I have always been partial to littler guys.

SNIP..."The 60-year-old mother of three daughters and grandmother of one, an independent voter, did not want to hear any "trash stories from the filthy press about Arnold and sex." "Arnold wasn't president when he supposedly did those things that women said he did," she said. "And it's all old garbage against him, anyway."..."

Unreal!

12. A moderate independent friend of mine
surprised me today when I brought up the groping issue by responding that he didn't think it was a big deal and that all men have "groped" at one time or another. I was floored. I've known this guy for years and know he doesn't make inappropriate moves on women. Why would he tolerate it in a governor? He didn't want to go there and changed the subject.

13. operative words - 'let him'
These little twits are confusing the difference between a consenual grope and an assault. I'd bet my last penny that if somebody groped one of them, they'd run straight to some 'tough guy' boyfriend and demand he protect her 'honor'. The worst part is, they have absolutely no clue as to what this is all about in the first place and wouldn't even be interested if it weren't for Arnold.

OK, OK, two wrongs don't make a right and the reporter would have been guilty of sexual assualt but JEEZE LOUISE these people have no ability to put themselves in another's shoes!

14. It's the climate we live in.
Guys like to oogle bimbos on t.v. and since the money and 15 minutes of fame are good, it's not too difficult to find women who will be willing to debase themselves in front of millions of people. Look at this latest craze of women kissing women. It's not about the inner relationship between two women who are expressing their love for each other, it's about getting young male viewers excited.

The trickle down effect is that women get blamed if men act on those feelings.

23. Robot Predator has policies????
You are right, I did not go near the rally but from California media it is the same crap you probably heard such as "I am going to clean house" ad nauseum. All he has is inane one liners. Our state is in such a mess and these foolish twits who are going to vote for him do not understand that the recall, if it succeeds, is going to hurt us even more.

Any polices he espouses are from Pete Wilson.

24. So does Arnold. Check out this interview:
SCHWARZENEGGER: I'm sorry about it. Well, let me tell you something, that no one every came to me in my life and said to me that I did anything, then said, ``I don't want you to do that and you went over the line, Arnold.'' Now, all of a sudden, isn't it odd that three days and four days before the campaign, all of a sudden, all these women want to have an apology? Isn't it odd?

JENNINGS: Are you blaming the women?

SCHWARZENEGGER: I mean, you have common sense, Peter. You can figure it out for yourself.

JENNINGS: Are you...

SCHWARZENEGGER: Come on now.

JENNINGS: ... well, no, you figure it out for me.

SCHWARZENEGGER: I mean, no, no, no, no. But I'm just trying to tell you, you know it and I know it.

38. This was in response to allegations Clinton had
groped, raped, and sexually assaulted numerous women, and had an affair with Lewinsky which was overtly inappropriate, since he had hire and fire power over her. I have no idea if those allegations are true or not, and I have no idea whether or not the allegations against Arnold are true or not.

Either way, it's pretty easy for people to excuse the behavior of people they consider on "their side"

39. I was talking with some DUers...
about this.

I was watching Comedy Central and had the misfortune to catch a commercial for "Girls Gone Wild". As I watched these emancipated, young women who had grown up with the the full benefits of the feminist movement flash their tits, french each other, do jumping jacks topless, and generally engage in some of the most demeaning behavior I have ever seen a fellow woman engage in, I asked myself, "Was this what it was all about? All those women who marched, all those women who were jailed, all those women who refused to settle for being a second class citizen? So that some young gal could flash her tits in Florida for 15 minutes of notoriety?"

It just about broke my heart.
