I just was listening to an interview with George Galloway on Wisconsin Public Radio and he said that he was going to be on Bill O'Rielly's TV show. I don't know when, bt that would be a good show to catch.

I think that I saw Al Sharpton on that during the Presidential election. (Don't watch much Fox, not least because the programmes are on sooo late U.K. time.)

Its not so hard to do when you control the mike and can keep the camera on you as long as you want. O'Reilly can manufacture the appearance of having bested practically anybody in a debate on his own show.

I'd like to see O'Reilly go up against Galloway in a public forum with an unbiased moderator. Not likely to happen, but it would be worth seeing.

It won't be easy, and it certainly won't be fair... but it is totally possible.

O'Reilly controls the mike and the cameras. He can have the interview edited after the fact and he can spin the whole thing after the fact.

In a live debate, O'Reilly wouldn't have a prayer against Galloway. in the context of O'Reilly's own show on FOX...

Galloway is just as smug and arrogant as O'Reilly. He does nothing for the cause... he only becomes a target for the right to point to.

He has a lot of skeletons in his closet, and although you may agree with him on the single point of being against the war, he has way too much baggage to be legit!

I've been watching DU from the sidelines for a long time, and what has always kept me from joining in, is the "black and white" response to most issues found here. I'm sure I'll be called a freeper, 'cause I don't buy into everything 100%. I makes me worry that those like me who tend to be slightly closer to the center, are not welcome in the DU nor the Democrats in general.

I'm cautious to let my beliefs be vocalized by someone who has such a tainted history. I certainly would not be trilled with the likes of O'Reilly if I were on the right.

The message is what's important and he speaks it without apology. Last I checked nobody nominated him Dem spokesperson so I don't see why all the talking points, mostly debunked, about his "tainted history" still get so much play.

26. Yesterday I read quite a disturbing article on Galloway by Greg Palast.

He is a great speaker but it seems he has been less than honest about a number of his actions that kind of cut into his reputation.

I really want to like the guy and wish there was some explanation as to the accusations Palast levels at him, maybe there is. His speech here when he was questioned about the oil for food program was fantastic, nothing can take that away, a great deal of what he said was spot on, most of it in fact. Just wish the other stuff wasn't there for the opposition to point to.

Some really impossible question that has little to do with the problems. You see this tactic all the time with these reicht wingers. Frame the question to make the guest look bad, and continually ask him to answer the question while youre trying to speak . Hannity has made a living with this tactic.

How hard would it be to counter this tactic? Not hard at all. I dont know why these guests go on seemingly so unprepared and surprised by the tactic.

Has been Sy Hersh, the man had O'Reilly eating out of the palm of his hand by the time the interview was finished.. Sy is smart, he uses a verbal judo approach, using his opponent's momentum against them.. Galloway will just end up being a shouting match..
