If Recall passes and Cruz Wins he should appoint Davis Lt. Gov

I'm serious. If the recall passes but Cruz beats Arnold and is elected Governor he should appoint Davis Lt. Governor and then resign saying that the recall was a fraud anyway. Then Davis could appoint him to his duly elected post as Lt. Governor. After all this is the team that voters elected in 2002: Davis as Governor and Bustamante as Lt. Governor.

If he did this Cruz Bustamante would be a real hero to many party activists and the front runner for the 2006 Democratic nomination for Governor of California.

is this recall election brought on by Republicans desperate to gain power they otherwise can't get at the ballot box.

3. there will be a vacancy and the governor can appoint
a successor. Bustamante will be elevated to governorship so he gets to appoint a Lt. Governor.
