What happened to the story about Bush not being on the ballot in Alabama?
I had heard a while back that since the Repukes set their convention too late, that Bush would not be on the ballot in Illinois or Alabama? Did they move their convention up so that Bush could be on the ballot? I had forgotten all about it until now.
This situation is going on in several states, but the news on it seems to have vanished. I have posted threads here asking about the situation in Illinois, but the threads quickly dropped into oblivion with no answer.
"Meet the deadline, like everyone else." At this point, the legislature (Democrat) would have to change the law, and the governor (Democrat) would have to sign the change.
Illinois officials should allow Bush on the ballot, even if it means changing the rules on the condition that Texas Republicans abandon their redistricting scheme, at least until 2005.
