Rumours of Bush resignation (And ye shall hear of zots and rumors of zots)
Beebers 24:6

Posted on 09/13/2005 11:54:25 AM PDT by squuashthelibs

I received this via email in the past few minutes, has anyone else read this? This can't be true surely?

Washington (AP) - President Bush has, by all accounts received harsh criticism over his handling of the Katrina relief effort.

Earlier Tuesday, he publicly stated that he takes responsibility for the federal government's failures in the aftermath of Katrina, but what Bush may do next could surprise many observers.

Senior Republican party sources have indicated to AP that Vice President, Dick Cheney led a delegation of administration officials unhappy with the federal response to hurricane Katrina and its aftermath to confront President Bush last Thursday.

The delegation demanded that Mr Bush apologise to the nation for his administration's poor response to the crisis, or resign. It has not been relayed to our office what the response was to that demand.

1. What Is Going On?
There's obviously a concerted effort to push this "Bush is resigning" meme...Did I miss the memo?

21. Is this what you are looking for
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1483578/posts?q=1&&page=151

It starts off basically saying that this can't be true, looking for a link, CNN lies and morphs into President Bush taking responsibility unlike Nagin and Blanco or that other President who never took responsibility for anything. That place is great for a laugh. They are in so much denial.

Somehow a cricket got in our house. We don't HAVE to get rid of it but I was wondering if there was some weird odd way the people in Minnesota or Boston have to get rid of crickets. That is what the lounge is so good at.

"Dick Cheney led a delegation of administration officials"
Yeah... ok. Dickie leads the coup?

Now, I wouldn't be surprised, but then again, I've been waiting for Mr. Evil to pull a coup all along. We'll become the United States of Halliburton. Ah yes... can you smell the fascism?

6. I just got finished reading that on their site.
Maybe we should start a rumor campaign that Bush is going to resign. Or flood the cable news networks with emails saying Bush should resign since he "took responsibility".

20. Since when do Repugs worry about elections?
They control the machines. They may be worried about losing their death-grip on the media however. With a functioning media, even with machine fraud, it would be harder to sell the steal.

Unless Franken were still on the air, of course.

30. My theory on the "zot" - B.C. comic strip used to use the "lightning bolt"
(a.k.a. "hand of God") to strike down one of the characters in the strip. Until the Clinton Presidency, Hart (the creator) didn't really post much religious right stuff, so it was always implied.

So, it would probably be similar to them striking down a thinker . . . like they would have the moral high ground to actually be able to throw a pebble . . .

13. IF this was true it would still be for selfish reasons
such as setting themselves up as saviors for the 2006 elections and beyond.

I find it hard to believe they would blame W when he's not really in charge at the levels a real president would be.

18. Well, if it is a friend, that is a cruel joke to get our hopes up like
that. Also, on the other side, if this is true, he is doing this to start a civil war in this country by doing so.

He's never ran this country in the first place. Dick "go F yourself Mr." Cheney and Rummy have anyway. If Bush is resigning, it's because he is sick of putting up with the criticism, plus, he has never held a full time job (including this one), and he is tired and has made enough money for himself, his family and friends, so what is the point of him continuing when he could be home clearing brush.

They hope in Air Force One every weekend and go to Texas on our dime. I think he is out there four days a week and in Washington three. He feels it's time for his retirement.

Or, the freepers are just bored, so they start BS like this, come in here lurking to see how far it gets. That just goes to show how their cognitive skills are about as good as Bush's and they get bored fast. They cannot focus on any one thing at a time and so that is why they can call in all these shows and bash everyone but Bush. How sad.

that rather than post things like "oh, that's untrue. he isn't going anywhere, etc....." they instead dismiss the article as the work of a troll, yet I didn't see anything inthe OP that would indicate the person was trying to flame or incite anything controversial.

35. It wouldn't matter one bit...
if Bush resigned. Cheney would just step up to the office of President. I seriously doubt that Bush's ego would allow him to do so, but then again you never know just what his handlers might have up their sleeves to persuade him to to it anyways. He's become a liability to the Republican party and the current administration.

Big deal if Bush isn't in charge anymore. It's not like he has been anyhow. Shit, imagine Cheney as President. He'd probably make Rove the V.P. as well.
