Nagin + Shrub =???????
This dude is scaring me. I've got a pretty good radar about folks and I'm not reading good vibes about this guy. I see him turning and I don't like what I see. Anyone who saw him on MTP yesterday knows what I'm talking about.

Don't think he is all of what many want to make him out to be. Keep your eyes on this guy.

4. You've heard Nagin speak, you've heard * try to speak...what do
you think? Nagin actually can speak, and he is canny, and he is willing to admit mistakes, and he's not PC - told the admin to get off their asses...relax.

6. the ability to speak well does not an honorable person make...
everyone knows that shrub is an idiot. I'm talking about what's truly in nagin's heart. everyone plays the political game, but this is different. you don't turn on your own governor to cozy up to a pres who left your people in their town to drown, die of starvation or dehydration. anything that shrub's ass does now is a day late and a dollar short. this is about being awol from american people and letting them die and that is unforgivable, even in the best political maneuvering.

7. Didn't trust this guy from day one...
right at the start of the hurricane he was laying blame on the governor... watch it again and you'll see. He's a fox in sheeps clothing. All about corporate and self. A true Repug.

9. Indeed. What's right is right. Nagin and Blanco are no angels...
Say what you want but with the mayor it comes down to those stupid buses under water. I don't care how much Bush and FEMA didn't do, Nagin should have done something in advance. This is of course mostly the fault of the Federal government since it has the resources to handle something of this scale, but Nagin chose to wait.

Governor Blanco is not innocent either. She has access to the resources of the whole state. There had to be enough help in the northern part of the state to have had ready to help immediately after the hurricane left the area.

So, both the mayor and governor chose to wait for the Feds and not do anything while waiting, which could have at least helped some. The only people I heard doing anything in the first days after the disaster were the NOPD.

It doesn't matter if the people responsible are Democrats or Republicans. If what they did was wrong it was wrong. There are too many people trying, embarrassingly, to justify what the mayor and governor did to help.
