5. 46% of which people approve? Halliburton?
Really, if they included demographics with their pollis we'd know exactly how laughable they are....

"Some say that they approve of the president."

Who? Who says they approve?

7. Gallup's an obvious out here
Every other poll is sitting between 38 and 40%, and even Rasmussen is at 44%. Gallup's poll seems wrong.

10. an inaccurate poll and even CNN is so embarrassed
that they gave an average of all polls...(42%) In short, just ignore it. Its inflation has always been as much as 10%.

19. PS
and please remember that Gallup also said there was absolutely no outrage and no one is blaming Bush just last week when all other polls were saying the opposite. So choose whom you want to believe...

11. He could be at 26% and people here would still be in a conniption
Gee whiz, take it easy. It's one poll, not a very favorable one to him at that, and it's a little higher than all the others, which range in th 38%-42% range.

Yet when a poll comes out showing the Baby Bush at 38% we have the usual hand-wringing posts about why that number is so high.

Try and understand that not everybody will see the world as we do, and some probably will never be able to. They need to be written off and ignored.

12. 46% of republicans?
Pat Robertson watchers?

Lunatics?

I don't buy it for one minute. If Bush has 25% I'd be surprised. Go on, do your own informal polling. Stand outside the grocery and pretend you're a pollster...if you can get anywhere close to 46% to say they approve of Bush, you're living in an all-white, wealthy gated community. It ain't like that out here in Realityland.

13. It's Their M.O. They ALWAYS Do This: Buck the Trend In Favor Of Chimpy
It's their job to put out propoganda to soften Chimpy's dismal numbers. That's what they get paid for. Look at their polling history of the last few years and you will see this same pattern repeated time and again.

14. POLLS SHOW SUPPORT FOR BUSH ADMINISTRATION CRUMBLING
from yesterday's Huffington Post:

Two new polls show President Bush's approval ratings at all-time lows. The AP-Ipsos poll gives the President a 39 percent job approval rating, while the Newsweek poll shows Bush's ratings even lower at 38 percent. Newsweek also finds for the first time since 9/11, a majority of Americans disapprove of how Bush is handling terrorism and homeland security.

The slow, disorganized federal response to hurricane Katrina has tarnished not only the President but also the nation's view of the Republican party. The AP-Ipsos poll finds that 65 percent think the country is on the wrong track. And according to Newsweek, only 38 percent of registered voters now say they would vote for a Republican if the Congressional elections were held today. 50 percent of registered voters say they would vote for a Democrat.

17. Are they comparing the same polls to each other?
NOt on your link but on MSM. It seems to me that W had some really bad numbers over the weekend (from polling last week) and now it went UP if you compare it to the "AWWW don't point and laugh at the retarded kid" polls taken over the weekend-making it look like it went up across polls themselves.

26. There is no way!
I don't trust these polls. Least of all Gallup. What is the most reliable and scientifically valid poll?

Also, is there a diebold effect in these models? If the Republicans artificially inflated turnout for Repubs in 2004, couldn't this be factored into the polls?

his numbers will sink again.
Not even the drumbeat of rightwing radio and TV can keep this administration afloat.
They're losing strength every week. I expect to see the low 30's by spring.
