Four Years After 9/11...
I do have to smile at the hand of fate sometimes. This weekend was to have been a poll-pumping shot in the arm of the * Administration. After Cindy Sheehan, they were looking forward to the anniversary of 9/11 so they could scare the citizens over "terra" again.

We've seen terror now, more clearly than we even saw it on 9/11. The most harrowing 9/11 images for me were the people jumping out of buildings.

I think that as horrific as it was, the NO catastrophe was a shot in the arm to the American people's psyche, waking us up to the fact that our most dangerous terrorist is within our own borders, and sleeping at night in the White House.

Our harrowing images are now dead babies, wild dogs gnawing on bodies, lumps floating lifelessly in water. Bush has done his mentor proud. Osama must surely be very pleased with the good work that his little White House soldier has done to further the destruction of the American people.

1. Either that, or the catastrophe was just fuel for the 9/11 whoring
that the administration will be doing these next few days.

They can take everyones confusion, hurt, and anger, and turn it into a focused allegiance to Bush by drawing comparisons to the myths of 9/11 and making everyone rally behind Bush again.

2. It won't work.
I think anyone who's been touched by the horror of Katrina will see the disconnect (except for those firmly in Bush's camp) and be even more disgusted by their 9/11 'celebration'.

Their hubris is destroying them; we've reached critical mass.

3. Same thing with 9/11. New York, especially NYC, resoundingly
rejected Bush in 2004.

Its the disgusting assholes in the rest of the country, the ones who weren't personally affected by the disaster but instead like to tell "interesting where-were-you" stories who rally behind Bush.

4. This is different though.

There is no enemy; no one to "hunt down and bring to justice". Any sort of connection between Katrina and 9/11 - especially touting success, is absurd. They'll do it though, because they have no choice, their arrogance allows nothing less.

There will always be a percentage of loyal cultists who ignore what's in front of their eyes and support Bush, but I have to believe most Americans are waking up. Tomorrow's staged dog and pony show will be like a shot of espresso.

5. I really hope you are right.
Common sense and logic would dictate that the people would reject Bush, not only for his incompetence but also for his lack of action and his general apathy.

But, when have the masses been known for their common sense and for their command of logical reasoning?

6. There have been moments -
and I believe (I have to) that the people as a collective will find a way to "right the ship" this time too.

I point to Thomas Jefferson. He had faith that long after he was gone, the people would prevail.
