Karen Hughes - A comment
Edited on Fri Sep-09-05 07:01 PM by freemen2005
Yes her earlier comments regarding the looting as a bigger problem for the American image, has been discussed to death but I thought I'd add some spice.

A few dozen looters is nothing. Really, I mean think of the Rodney King riots in LA.

This time around most of the so called looters were seeking basic survival items and maybe a couple pairs of shoes. But who cares. Really.
Its just human nature. Free=good and provided an opportunity to do so most people would take it.

The problem with this woman is that she works for the administration. An administration who is only interested in the safety and welfare of the top 1% of the country. Yes really.

You see under their style of government, which we let them create, there will always be an enormous number of have-nots and a moderate group of haves and a tiny elite group of have-most.

Is this truly what our forefathers had envisioned when they created the nation so long ago?

Is it perhaps time for the people to re-balance this mockery of governance and put it back on the right track?

Capitol Hill - sept 11 2005. Show you care.

3. A bit off-topic, but shoes WERE a survival item in the flood zone, IMO.
Odds, are most people caught in the flood lost their footwear, and walking around barefoot in the aftermath was just not an option.

9. an observation....
I remember Los Angeles during Rodney King.....it was scary....BUT when people LOOT they also set fires....Los Angeles was a sea of fires during the King riots... I watched it from the roof of an apartment building in West Los Angeles....FIRES WERE NOT BEING SET IN New Orleans.....the looting was necessary. Watts also had fires being set everywhere.......I say the absence of fire proves the argument that they looted because they were starving. I hate Karen Hughes....I saw her at a book signing at a Costco in Palm Desert and I am still mad at myself for not yelling out something in the crowd like I wanted to ....I chickened out.
