Answer to the statement "If this was a white city, they wouldn't do this"
A lot of people have been saying that if this had happened to a rich, white city, Bush wouldn't leave people to die. The answer is yes, he would.

Because deep down I don't think this is to do with race or poverty. I believe that Bush is so petty, vindictive and narcisisstic. He will do this to anyone who doesn't vote Republican. Which pretty much covers every major city in America

1. Actually, if you think about it...

a rich, white city would be a Republican haven, so there would have been help there before the storm even hit. Who do you think are Bush's base after all? They are mostly rich WASPs.

2. Yes, they might have
Bush was falling in the polls because of Cindy
He needed a 9/11
They would capitalize on anything
FEMA was held back
Bush showed up everything started moving
It was to make him look like a hero and bring the polls up

If you compare what they did for Hurricane Frances last year and what they did for Katrina, it is so obvious.
They purposely held back and even stopped help from coming.

They wanted this to damage democrats and give Bush a 9/11 glow

Can anyone say Giuliani enough
This is a call for strong Republican leadership and the crushing of Democrats

There spin goal is as follows
Democrat Mayor = inefficient
Democrat governor= failed to act
Democrat = weak
Democrat = failure
Democrat - entitlements
Democrats are wieners
Democrats are creating there own demise

3. More a Bush I problem,,,
This is the SAME type of FEMA that Bush I had when Andrew hit Florida with the same problems.

From my below thead

"Counties and cities were overwhelmed. The state was unprepared and the federal government was slow to help. The situation got so dire a few days after the storm that Kate Hale, Dade County's director of emergency management, cried, "We're doing everything we can! Where in the hell is the cavalry on this one?"

4. Depends
on whether or not it's an election year...

------------------------------------------------------------------------
As FEMA comes under increasing scrutiny for its role in handling the New Orleans disaster, its response has not always been so sluggish.

In the fall of 2004, with the presidential election on the horizon, the key battleground state of Florida was facing its second hurricane in less than a month.

In response, FEMA awarded millions of dollars in disaster funds to residents of Miami-Dade County, even though the area did not experience hurricane conditions.

FEMA officials, the governor and the White House steadfastly denied suggestions that politics played a role in the distribution of hurricane aid in Florida.

But records contained in hundreds of pages of e-mails of Governor Jeb Bush suggest otherwise. According to the documents, a federal consultant to FEMA predicted that a disaster could reflect poorly on President Bush and suggested that his re-election staff be brought in to minimize any political liability.

6. I agree
Remember he left town to vacation with his brother when his daughter was having an appendectomy. I thought then that he doesn't even care about his own children.
