6. That'll fix it. Of course, there was PLENTY of praying going on by
people, now dead, who suffered while he flitted about like the attention-span-impaired social butterfly that he is.

7. For an European this is beyond understanding
Does the US have an Ayatollah or a President ?

I understand a day of MOURNING, which can of course involve religious ceremonies or private expressions of worship...

But day of PRAYER ?

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion"

11. obviously reading posts here it isn't that important
it sounds that the problem is who declares it, not that it is declared...

14. Its not against prayer.
At least for me, its the feeling that Bush thinks prayer should be substituted for rescue and relief. That's just not right. And if he really believed what he professes he believes, he'd know that.

13. Bush is the Great Satan and the Ayatollah of Assyholas.
Delirium tremens make people say and do some strange shit. I guess he needs to rest up from the vacation and his Texas 5th! He talks to the same voice Jim Jones did I think.

18. Agreed completely.
It's almost as bad as turning sept 11th into a day of fervor for war.

8. What about the prayers of those who were dying in NOLA......
I guess they couldn't get through the switchboard. You need someone with a direct hotline, like bush, to get through to the Big Guy I guess? :eyes:

A totally useless exercise designed to make people feel like they're "doing something" to help. :puke:

20. GOD FORGIVE ME! I WILL NEVER JOIN IN WITH A BUSH INITIATED PRAYER.
I WILL NEVER PRAY ON A NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER SET BY BUSH. I WILL NEVER DONATE TO ANY RELIEF EFFORT REQUESTED BY BUSH.

I WILL PRAY IN MY OWN TIME. I WILL DEMAND THAT MY TAXES BY USED FOR NATIONAL RELIEF EFFORTS WHEREVER RELIEF EFFORTS ARE NEEDED. I WILL DEMAND THAT BUSH CEASES AND DESIST FROM OCCUPYING IRAQ, USING MY TAX DOLLARS FOR THAT OCCUPATION, AND I WILL DEMAND THAT HE BRING THE BOYS AND GIRLS BACK HOME NOW!!!!!!!!

EAT :puke: Bush

22. How offensive.
People don't need his prayers. They need him to do his job. And his job must include not being self-righteous, and attempting to institute a state religion -- which is what his calling for a national day of prayer clearly is.
