Pardon me if I don't forgive Republicans....
I am not in a forgiving mood. I don't know if I ever will be again. I'm glad some people are finally seeing the light about Bush, but I can't help but feel it's too little and too late. If they had seen the light before Bush's re-election, I might have welcomed them back with open arms.

People are giving a lot of excuses about why they followed Bush. A lot of them are feeling guilty for the troubles that are now so glaring around this country. I just want to ask them one thing...what the hell took you so damned long? Did it have to come to this before you could swallow your pride and say you were wrong? Why?

6. I posted in another post on this
...and my response got deleted. I was in a foul mood and said something I shouldn't but I get angry when people start offering up excuses for 5 years of crap.

And thanks for the welcome:)

14. that is the good thing about the forum...
if you need to cool your jets a bit sometimes, the clear thinkers will bring you back down to earth. Don't let it bother you, I advised a newbie tonight that "thicker skin" will develop. I couldn't agree with you more on this post.

9. But you forgave me for voting for him in 2000.
I realize 2004 was late, but I feel more forgiving than I did in November. We need anyone who sees the light. At least, that's how I'm feeling now.

(OT: Is your kitty doing OK? I like big black cats. :D)

15. well, I don't fogive people here in Texas who voted for that asshole
in 2000 - he sucked badly as a governor too

Skittles is just pitiful; weight still holding steady at 25 pounds........nickname is Butterball..........he lives at the farm with my boyfriend Tombo - I brought Skittles there when I lived with Tom and when I left two years later Skittles had become the proverbial farm cat so it was agreed to let him stay there (he would have been miserable here in my apartment). But I still see him when I trek out there - he really is a sweetie pie although he looks very mean in pictures. :)

whatever we get from this administration is only and exactly what they asked for. Unfortunately, the rest of us don't deserve it.

Screw 'em.

5. Because that is just how they are
Bush supporters are vicious, narrow minded, authoritarian, dogmatic people. Those sorts don't generally admit mistakes, stop drinking and driving, stop beating spouses, bashing fags, etc, until their asses are completely in a sling.

10. It's people like you....
That keep me a Liberal and sane. Even though I can't find it in my heart right now to forgive them I know that others of us can and somehow that helps warm the coldness that has crept over me these past years while watching Bush destroy what was good and right.

11. My darker side...
... says FUCK THEM ALL.

The side I'm cultivating, the side that forgives, the side that understands that all human beings are fallible and that all that matters is that when one sees the error of one's ways that they truly wish to make amends - well that side says forgive and forget.

I'm trying to put my darker side in the background on this issue. As a "liberal" I believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt. I believe that "most" of the people who are coming around now are doing so because their hearts are in the right place - the information they were exposed to was not accurate.

Those who can, in the face of this horrible disaster that was made much worse by inaction and malfeasance, still make excuses for the malignant folks responsible for this debacle - well those folks can really just go to hell.

12. Yeah, they had to see it on TV without the censorship...
the media gave to the war. The media we have for now is showing the reality in our own backyard. I knew it would have to take something this drastic for some to come around.

My In-Laws voted for him twice. Drove my hubby nuts. They regret supporting him and want him and his ilk impeached after watching what happened in NO. They are furious. They want bush and cheney in jail now. It's hard for us to believe at the turnabout.

My mother-in-law was in tears and her words were, 'we went to war and took down Saddam. Why can't bush help our own people?' She told me this on the phone.

It wasn't pride for them. They did believe in bush before this happened.

13. The coward from Crawford
The only reason some of them are conceding that their pick is a disaster area is because its not even debatable any longer. Its smack square in your face obvious so what else can someone with any semblance of ethics do?

Its Bush stupid... seems fitting. Its also obviously out there to see. I wont forgive them either. Not until I see competent leadership back in power and I doubt even then.
