How did Bush know that the levees weren't attacked by Al Queda?
If they were behind it, would Bush's reaction have been any different? It seems clear that it would have been equally as incompetent.

Katrina has shown Bush's war on terror to be just so much expensive rhetoric.

The sad fact is that after hundreds of millions in national treasure have been squandered enriching those behind the right-wing-freak-show running the country America is more at risk than ever before.

Have they tried blaming Clinton yet?

Perhaps just one experienced backhoe operator in the middle of the night in a secluded part of the levy system could probably have caused a similar disaster. All you have to do is cut a decent size trench in the levy and the water will do the rest.

4. How many other such vulnerable sites are there across the USA?
Has Bozo-Bush been briefed on other such soft targets? Just thinking about this makes me want to apply some thick padding to the walls of my bedroom!

7. Because there were no warnings to ignore?
Probably never ocurred to Karl Rove. They should have marketed that last Thursday.

What I find odd, is we have a Cat5 hurricane barrelling down on the Gulf Coast and the warning level wasn't changed. Now if we have a color code meter to tell us that Al Qaeda boogymen are planning an event....wouldn't a Cat5 storm be a tend more threatening? Could any terrorist organization hit the US hard enough to do 1/1000 of the damage Katina did?

War on Terror....spent large, lost big. War on the Infrastructure....spent little, lost big.

11. Wow! Old and In the Way. You may be old but your part of the solution!
They merged FEMA into the Department Of "Homeland Security". Then they starved FEMA of funds.

What's left is a color-coded-terror-alert-system which means nothing.

Your wisdom is needed.

17. I'm sure they weighed that but
the ability to blame locals far outweighed the potential backfiring of the feds not being prepared for a terrorist attack.

14. I'll bet the "Dual Citizen's" boys know something about it...
I thought there was something fishy, other than the fish, about the levees caving in on their own. It looks like to me, that if they survived the impact of the tidal surge, they would have been through the worst of the stress on them. Then several hours after the storm is over and after it gets good and dark, they suddenly give way, in three different places?

So many things about this whole thing, don't add up!

16. It's not like there isn't a history of destroying levees in Lousiana, See
http://www.salon.com/april97/columnists/carville970407.html

(1997 article on history of Louisiana levees being dynamited, and local attempts to shoot those who might be trying that)

It would seem an investigation is in order
