Why Doesn't Bush ever call on Jimmy Carter to do anything?
afterall the man is the most popular former president and a Nobel Peace Prize winner (oh wait, that might be why he never asks Carter for help), but still everytime there is a crisis he calls on Poppy and Clinton. I guess Ford is too old (93) and feeble, but Carter is a still vigorous 80 year old.

I guess Carter's often harsh criticisms of the regime probably is what disqualifies him. Besides, Carter probably would have made Poppy sleep on the floor of that plane (haha).

14. Donations to the Habit for Humanity would increase. Bush only helps those
who are loyal to him.

2. Bush Can't Be Seen With A Real Christian
Edited on Thu Sep-08-05 06:23 PM by ThomWV
Jimmy Carter is clearly one of the finest men alive, how could the chimp live up to so much as meeting him in the street? I don't want Jimmy Carter stained by so much as being in the same state with filth like Bush.

He is a kind and generous soul, qualities the Neocons find disgusting.

He's a GOOD Christian who makes all the religious right types look like the giant hypocritical assholes that they are. Can't give the spotlight to anyone who makes you look bad, can you?

9. Carter makes him look bad in contrast
Plus there's the fact Chimpy's father committed an act of high treason to unseat Carter. Maybe it's Carter who won't do anything to help HIM.

13. Carter tells the...
...unvarnished truth and he doesn't care who does or doesn't like it. Not really the kind of front man Bushco's looking for. Poppy, Clinton and McCain will do nicely.

18. because he wants to trump up his father
And sit him next to a popular 2-term ex-president, even though most of America had, at best, lukewarm feelings for GHWB. And plus, adding Carter would mean that there would be two Dems and only one Repug working for aid and relief, and that wouldn't look good.

19. Once rebuilding starts, we'll probably see Jimmy, hammer in hand,
in the Gulf States, helping Habitat for Humanity rebuild the place. Take a photo of that, put it next to a photo of George W. Bush breezing through the region and hugging a couple of black people, and the American people will see all they need to see (if they're WILLING to see).

Carter politely turned them down. I hear he'll be working with Habitat for Humanity to help those affected by Katrina (without the * Admins help)

22. Jimmy Carter would be the perfect person to lead an independent
investigation into this disaster, imo. He is one of the few with the credibility, the trust of the American people, so that the results of such an investigation would have validity.

28. Blind, arrogant ego always flees in the light of intelligent wisdom,
clarity and truth. Like oil and water...don't mix. B*'s entire identity is a pack of lies, and you bet that Carter knows it. B* couldn't stand the heat. He hates Carter 'for his freedom!'

maladministration. I doubt they are buddies.

God, I wish we had him back! He would be waist deep in the water hauling people out himself.
