6. Bullshit! The mayors and governors have no authority to evacuate
to other states or beyond their city borders where the residents would be safe. They were faced with totally inadequate resources and funding DECREASED by the SHRUB administration.

FEMA and BUSH didn't give a flying fuck about the poor left behind so THEY JUST LET THEM DIE. That's the alpha and omega of it.

3. That's actually an reading skills test, because all you have to is read
the DHS site to see that it is the Federal Gov't that is responsible.

5. What is the point of the poll--blind ppl to W's STATUTORY responsibility?
This is not a matter of opinion or polling...
We have a Department of Homeland Security. We have FEMA.
BY LAW the Federal Emergency Management Agency is authorized and mandated to MANAGE EMERGENCIES.

They fucked up HUGELY, and our whore media is too stupid or too GOP-compliant to point out the plain facts.

A state of emergency was declared BEFORE the hurricane made landfall. The declaration was received and echoed by the Bush Administration. They FAILED to do anything to prepare for disaster.
They FAILED to manage this emergency.
They FAILED to 'secure the homeland'.

They failed utterly in the first and most important task of ANY government--to protect lives and civil order.

Which level of government is most responsible for the slow response to Hurricane Katrina?

I said Federal because I watched Katrina from when it began in the waters below the Bahamas and as it slid across South Florida as a cateegory #1 and then gained strength as along the Florida Keys. Katrina had disaster imprinted all over it and the National Hurican Center was plotting a path straight to New Orleans and the Gulft Coast. None of the Federal Authorities seemed to be paying attention, even though the Gulf Coast towns and municipalities and major cities were all asking for help. The federal disaster prevention agencies should have been there to prevent the disasters on human life.

11. About time, they did it right.
Yesterday, they combined State/Local and split the Feds between Bush and FEMA, in the last poll.

Manipulate this.

16. This poll is for us
It is actually a liberal-bias poll. Practically every Democrat thinks it is the primary responsibility of the Feds, and so we all get to vote on the same box.

The Repubs think it is state and local, and they have TWO boxes to choose from. Split votes. Now they know what it feels like!

Finally, centrists would tend to attribute responsibility across the board, so they click the last one.

In the end, the Democratic opinion gets the highest percentage.

Boy, it isn't often I see a poll that is worded to piss off freepers.

44-16-18-22 when I voted. Over 55,000 votes

30. not really
The BAMM model could hit Melbourne and Cape Canaveral hard, but those are not so heavily populated. By the time it got to Tampa and into the gulf it would be weaker than the everyday thunderstorms.
