Bush has designated 9/16 as a national day of prayer
In memory of the victims of Katrina. That's my birthday dammit. Does this mean I have to be solemn and prayerful instead of drunk and concerned about my fellow cajuns?

2. Can we pray for the removal
of the fuckups who allowed this debacle to happen as well as for the well being of the victims of both the natural and man-made disasters?

6. The Prayer police will be watching ( www.bushville.org)
9/11 March to Bushville, DC

On 9/11 survivors of Katrina will commit an act of Nonviolent Civil Disobedience by setting up an illegal camp on the Washington, DC Mall. Bushville, DC will stay there as long as it takes to get answers and change.

Visit www.bushville.org and spread the word.

We will camp on Bush's doorstep and make him face us every day until he is driven from power.

Join the March to Bushville, DC. If you can't make it on 9/11 visit us on 9/24.

8. No worries
A recent peer-reviewed, double-blind study showed that drunk and concerned works just as good as prayer. The study was double-blind because the amount of Jack Daniels consumed would make anybody doubly blind. No need for any guilt, go ahead and be concerned.

12. All women in burkhas...
If El Presidente for Life *, the moral and now spiritual leader, hic, erp, of our country so states it, then it will be. No sense rushing into prayer, we surely can't know for ourselves when to pray, we must follow his lead and orders!! Yes, El Presidente!!!

13. Prayer = talk, basically
...and he's always been more comfortable "talking the talk" instead of "walking the walk."

16. An interesting theological concept...
Intercessory prayer. Are we to believe that massed prayer is more effective than a single prayer of one in need? Or is this just a political ploy?

Do we have any example in the New Testament of mass prayer as contrasted with the single prayer, or is public prayer to be viewed suspiciously?? ("When you pray, go into your closet where you won't be seen. Do not be like the Pharisess who pray on the street corner, I tell you they have received their reward.") Does God not see pain and suffering until there is a critical mass???

Methinks this was a white house interns idea, or at least taking the creativity of an intern, to come up with this. It would be more appropriate to state "We should pray always for those in need."
