I have a freind in the 82nd Airborne.
He is the ex of one of my best friends. He is a recruiter and has served in Iraq. He called my freind today and said that he is stationed in the French Quarter and that is is just hell there. I didn't get many details except that the smell is so bad he cannot eat and that he is having flashbacks to Iraq. Hope to hear more in the next few days. Just a tidbit for ya.

1. I've been fighting for five years to keep my sons out of Bush's
hell in Iraq. (Yes I did see it coming in 2000). Now I have learned that my 26 year old son, who works for a federal contractor, will have to go to NO. We spent the last ten months nursing our youngest so back to health after a brutal beating in San Francisco that left him in a wheelchair. I have sure given my kids one hell of a world to live in.

2. I keep coming back to read your reply, FI...it breaks my heart.
I truly hope your son stays safe in Iraq...how long will he have to stay or do you even know? I'm so sorry about your youngest...I wish him health.
Quit kicking yourself...parents can only do so much to plan for the future.

Peace...Susan

3. He's going to Bush's other hell, New Orleans. He'd go to Iraq
over my dead body. My youngest is headed back to school in a few days. Empty nests are not what they are cracked up to be.

4. I went through "empty nest" in the early 80's.
I hate it when people tell me this, but it does get better over time.
Hang in there!

5. Just be glad that when *'s handlers told him
he had to "send troops to the Gulf region", he eventually got it right.

6. Jeez, we're praying for your friend and the vets...
Tell him we thank him for his service to our country... It's so horrible to hear that anyplace should be the way New Orleans is now... a cesspool.
