Seems to be a lot of Rush apologists on the DU Hmmmm.....
Confirms another suspicion.
At any rate, it seems to be simple case of this:

Rush broke the law...a big law that would see urban teens buying or selling the same drugs thrown in jail with strike number against them.

He's an addict, a bigot, a liar, and a hypocrite.

He will take down sizeable number of the RW with him...they are losing credibility fast...even with the mainstream media spinning things in their favor. Even some dittoheads know when they have been "played."

In summary: do the words Lindsay, Hyde, Gingrich, Bennett, Robertson, Falwell, Baker, Schweigert, "Ahrnuld" and now Rush have in common?

2. The "apologists" are criticizing the law...not excusing Rush
Hypocritical for Rush to act morally superior on his show while secretly harboring an addiction.

EQUALLY Hypocritical to criticize draconian drug laws, then want to throw the book at someone because he's a complete ass.

I'm not saying you're a hypocrite, because I don't know where you stand on draconian drug laws.

8. The same...
...and a card-carrying member of the ACLU. Jewish lawyers defending Klansmen, etc. etc.

I'm not going to "rush" to anybody's defense here: Slander is not protected in the first amendment. I'd be more satisfied if he repeatedly got nailed for that.

3. Rush made some judgmental comments a few years back about addicts
He said it was a personal choice and he disagreed with the "experts" and he firmly believes it is a "choice" and these people deserve no sympathy. They are losers and low-lifes to him.

Lemme see...Republicans, born-again, bible-thumping holier-than-thou
outlook on everyone because they are better than everyone....

Illegally obtaining powerful narcotics for your personal enjoyment...by personal-choice..so Rush, are you a low-life loser now too?

5. I just can't go there .....
Rush is exactly where he needs to be and is going down as a direct result of his behavior!

Let this train jump off the tracks! No empathy here!

7. I agree.
Rush has actively hurt America on a daily basis for years. For the public good, the man needs to be stopped. Al Capone was brought down on tax charges. Rush IMO is far worse.

9. Would they rob the potency of karma?
The juicyness of it. The essence of "payback". You know. Whosoever diggeth a pit, shall fall in it.

All that wisdom of the ages, when you point your finger at someone else, there are three pointed at you. Comeuppance.

Why should we abandon the sweet taste of "got what you deserve"?

It couldn't have happened to a more appropriate guy. I hope he's exposed as the complete and utter fraud, that he has always been.

He has done a lot, I mean A LOT of harm to america. It's almost impossible to calculate it. Truly a weapon of mass destruction.
There was a time when people like that would be drawn and quartered in the piblic square. I feel no pain for him in today's system.

They'll just prop the fat f**k up there after he finishes his sentence, he'll write another book, and he'll make twice as much money as he did before.

Just like they propped that fat f**k Bill Bennett back in our faces. Shit, they didn't even... they didn't even wait two weeks after he was exposed, before they put the fat f**k back on the air.

You really have to hold your nose alot in these times.

10. Would I get beat up here if I give Rush the benefit of the doubt?
I can't stand the fat bastard but I think I will wait how all of this plays out.

11. While I would be the last one to 'appologize'...
for Limbaugh's predicament(s), I am an ex-druggie myself, so I can relate to this particular situation.

I despise Limbaugh, and all he sits for, I mean I really despise him.
However, there is a point where my conscience takes over, and I can feel sympathetic to what he is facing. If, and that is an 'if', he has a serious drug problem, he needs to get help. If he was ingesting even 20% of what they imply he was ingesting, I am surprised he is not dead. (In fact, if he is going through withdrawal, I'd be willing to bet he wishes he was dead).

My main objection to all of the 'charges', and 'countercharges' is that because he has money and name recognition, he will bypass laws that are intended to be indiscriminate. There is no difference to me, between what he allegedly did, and the user on the street. The poor bastards that have to be the targets for his venom become vindicated.

In essence, it is the hypocrisy that find disgusting; always have, always will. Just because he has fame and money, he does not rise above the others because of his affliction, he is on equal ground, and should be treated as such.
