Hubby just talked to his RW mother and her Anne Coulter-loving second husband. Apparently the RW media has stopped making excuses for *'s handling of the hurricane. They're now playing the security card, and saying that there's a greater danger of us being attacked because of the chaos. While it might be true, I know for a fact that some Al Qaeda websites are celebrating that "Katrina joined the jihad." Why expend the effort to destroy the infidels when Allah is doing such a good job of it?

Her and her husband (who is a nice guy, despite his RW-nut outlook) had better take a good look at what's going on. They live in Venice, Florida (yes, where some of the 9/11 hijackers trained). Hurricane Charley came ashore in the next town down from where they live. There were still temporary shelters at the FEMA staging area in Venice when we were there in April. The next hurricane that hits the Gulf Coast could hit Venice.
