Ophra The Hypocrite
Thanks to my wife for this one:

My other half used to be a regular Ophra watcher (we're from Chicago...kinda required). She started to sour on when Ophra shilled for the manchild in 2000 (she makes my destest for the doofus look mild) and has noted over the years how Ophra's gotten more and more Conservative over the years...witness Dr. Phil and his "tough love" garbage.

What really sent her over the top was the Ahnold fluff job...one hour of FREE advertising time that didn't touch on any of the womanizing or drug use. Ophra was in full gawk and threw nothing but softballs at the galoot for an hour. Rove couldn't have scripted it better.

Now that the revelations of Ahnold's womanizing...and to be more specific, groping, have come to light, where is this champion of the "every day woman" on this topic? Silence! My wife pointed out how Ophra made a big deal of her history of sexual abuse, and now looks like a total hypocrite for not saying boo about Ahnold and his habitual violation of woman's bodies (my wife's words). If Ophra really had a sense of decency, she'd condemn openly Ahnold...then offer a free hour (on Monday) for Gray Davis.

1. Great minds think alike.
I thought the same thing when I saw the title of your thread. I, too, was an Oprah fan for many years; however, this was the icing on MY cake. I would imagine that many feel the same way. I also had the thought that she probably doesn't give a damn because #1, she's so stinking wealthy #2, promoting Gov. Groper cuz Maria is her friend, and #3, her current contract is up shortly. She has let so many of us down! Not just we adult women, but the younger ones, like my 19 and 21 year old daughters who watched her! :grr:

3. Watch The Blurring
I have an 18 year-old daughter whose always thought Ophra was full of it...LOL...and a very, very liberal and REGISTERED...she can't wait to vote against this regime next year.

What is it about "fame" that makes people so goofy? Especially other famous people? Leno and Ophra all but kissed ass and surely this got a lot of the sheeple going onto the "Join Ahnold" bandwagon.

Maybe it was Ophra "helping out" her friend Maria, but a national TV show isn't one's private treehouse...especially when it's messing with the political system.

Cheers!

5. It's not fame, it's money. Money makes people turn
republican every time.

One of my friends was a very rich trial attorney from South Carolina. A democrat, very liberal.

He lost his fortune, but a few years later, got it back. When he came back he was a staunch republican. No taxes for him. No sir.

Money makes people funny.

2. She is not what she appears to be on stage.
I have a friend who was a guest on her show. And when she approached Ophra to speak to her after the show, she was totally cold and almost ignored.

4. An Oprah thread is already in place
of course the new rules aren't yet...but look around first
and see if your thoughts might fall into an already posted
thread. Thanks.
