Tom Joyner: Charity To Help The Families Helping Families

I've been looking for an organization that I could make an immediate donation to that needs the help and will do the most good for those who need assistance now.

Tom Joyner was just on CNN and talked about the hardships now being face by the families that are taking in the former residents of New Orleans. Households that were having troubles making ends meet with 4 people, now are going to trying to make good with 10 or more.

He noted a charity set up by BlackAmericaweb that will distribute funds to families in need...families that won't qualify for a lot of the disaster funding but their burdens will be big nonetheless.

But I'll up that later. This looks like a fund well worth keeping an eye on.

One that's definitely off my list is Salvation Army. I saw their "Commander" kissing meeester boosh's ass last night...made me sick. I'm not too happy with the Red Cross, either.

Thanks to DU I've found several groups like this where I know the money will go to those who will fall through the cracks.
