I appreciate that you do not eat meat, but really. Starving people were fed. McDonald's obviously stepped up to the challenge. I don't know for sure, obviously, butI don't imagine that a vegetarian menu would have been very popular, even with starving people.

26. That's exactly what I was going to say
Nobody here would turn down a Big Mac if they were starving like these people are. If they say they would, they're liars or just plain stupid.

I have no experience at any of this, but if I was told you have thousands to feed quickly, I think I would choose them too.

25. MREs have gotten pretty good
the newer light brown ones beat the hell out of the old dark-brown ones.

Try one, odds are that you'll actually like it.

They just get awfully repetitive.

Hell, it's food, something they haven't had for at least 5 days. I don't care if it was oatmeal sandwiches. Right now they need something to fill their aching stomachs.

32. Yes, and thank the beef for giving it's life so you can eat.
I am mostly vegetarian but sometimes I know that it doesn't honor the animal who died so others could eat by discarding it.

35. I would eat the pickles and bun - but you can keep that mechanically
stripped carcass garbage they sell as "food" stewed in a vat of feces.

I mean this sincerely; there must be a couple dozen carcass eating situations I can imagine myself in starvation situations - including the killing of a non-human animal near death or the taking of flesh from a dead human animal for nourishment before I would eat the FILTH that comes out of the industrial meat industry.

These people have BEEN THOUGH MORE THAN ANYONE SHOULD BEAR and they deserve better than disease and feces ridden food from the corporate bowels of hell.

McDonalds isn't my idea of a great meal and isn't exactly the healthiest, but I do know that in urban areas, it is quite popular and I'm sure many appreciate having something like that at a time like this.

I just hope the efforts to feed and shelter these people doesn't just stop in a few days. Their homes, jobs, and in many cases, families are gone.

36. Not anymore
People in the suburbs are beginning to wise up to McDonald's, which is why their marketing has switched focus to "urban" imagery. Or, in plain, English, black people and Latinos. Minorities are McDonald's biggest growth market.

Still, I'm glad those Louisiana refugees have something to eat.

28. Sad
We really can complain about anthing can't we? Starving people have to eat McDonald's? OH MY GOD!! The HORROR! you know, some people just happen to like Mickey D's. that is why they have the big sign that says "Billions and Billions Served" In fact, in solidarity with those suffering, I will make sure I go and get a hamburger at the golden arches tomorrow. There is so much to complain about, I am just not sure this is near the top of the list.

The beef already died. I know a lot of us prefer not to eat animal products, but it is part of the natural way to eat what is available.
