That was great.

They DIDN'T HAVE THE RESOURCES ON THE LOCAL LEVEL. DUH.

We got 'em by the balls.

Think Peggy Noonan'll quote me again? Shove off, witch.

5. Does it matter which?
Whether they have been slighted because of their race or because of their social status or because they are left-handed, those people have been forgotton by those in charge who are ultimately resonsible for them.

9. I'm glad it was Sharpton going up against Tucker there.
Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 11:04 PM by BullGooseLoony
I seriously can not imagine anyone that could take on that argument better than Sharpton.

The man has a lot of talent when put in the proper context.

11. I happened to catch part of it, and then I became so disgusted with
whiney, wimp, brat, Bush-loving Tucker, I couldn't watch anymore! But Sharpton was excellent. Even when red-faced (F)Tucker attempted to rudely cut him off. Tell it like it is Sharpton.

15. We're all the least.
Anyway, I don't think Jesus wanted us looking at who we were acting toward, but who we were acting.

16. I dunno
To offer food to a hungry person is different than buying lunch for a friend. Need is everywhere. But I know what you mean I think. In any case, I think the storm victims are the least among us.

19. Yes, they are definitely the least among us.
And according to Christ, however we treat them is how we are treating Christ: "Whatever you have done" (or FAILED to have done!) "to the least of these, you have done it to me."

24. To me it matters for one reason
I think in the current situation it matters most because there are a whole lot of white Americans who don't see themselves as bigoted and sure as hell don't want to believe that with all the civil rights improvements that our government still feels it can get away with racism. Sometimes the race card isn't just any card, it is the trump.

The Congressional Black Caucus press conference was a sea of black faces urging the government for help while very carefully not referring to the lack of support in racial terms. When pressed, Stephanie Tubbs-Jones said something to the effect that there will be time later to discuss such things later but right now we have AMERICANS in need, Americans dying, and we need to address that. That they all think it was about race I have no doubt.

6. Tucker's a fucking douche.
Racism and classism have been intertwined in the South since the birth of this nation. The Civil Rights movement was a battle won, not the war. Anyone who says there is no racism is a liar or has their head up their ass, both of which could apply to Carlson.

you wouldn't have the classism without the racism underlying it. IMO.
