9. You bet.
This was not a terrorist attack, and there will be no rallying around the leader. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets into the high 20's.

Zogby will have him around 36, though.

18. I'll second that!
The number I see a lot is 23% favor Bush (or whatever he's doing). I don't think it goes lower than that. These folks in that 23% have a different criteria for judging Bush than "What's good for America."

Bush lost the the "What's good for America" group, long ago! They're gone. And the 23% won't be going, no matter what, unless by force. (Jail, anyone?)

21. True but it is awfully hard
to do damage control with something that will remain a serious tragedy on the TV every day for quite a while to come. People understand suffering, even if they have not experienced it and these people are suffering and will all have stories to tell.

I think he will sink some more, it will never be enough for me but I do think he will drop quite a bit.

12. Big gain?
In the 30's --- 37%.....howver, I'm hoping for the high teens (18%).

I mean, Sanjay Gupta (MD) is telling Aaron Brown that the patients from Charity (just as the name implies, he said) were waiting on the ramps while patients from the privately-owned Tulane Hospital were loaded & evacuated first. And some of the Charity patients were being hand-pumped (respirator bellows). Pissed Aaron right off.

15. All that will remain in the plus column are the 33% of the population who
would watch the man fuck a dead 10 year old boy while feeling up a live 8 year old girl on live television and claim he was compassionate and loving to children.

20. to them = Hero / t o us=Nero / to me = Zero
There have been SO MANY times he should have been booted outta there -- if people remember this past week, it should be his undoing. But the rest of the country has a big party weekend to forget these things, today's Friday Dump will remove it from the front pages, and by Tuesday he will be claiming the rescue was all his doing.

22. This should be a good test of the credibility of the pollsters.

Any poll that shows over 35% might as well say they have been compromised..... Or subsidized by the RNC.

25. Not much change
The repubs will talk up the looting and hold their base which is probably around 40%. Most moderates who voted for * had already turned on him......sorry, I don't see a big loss in his numbers. I know quite a few Bush supporters and all they talk about is the guy looting the TV. If * appoints Gulliani to head up the recovery it could actually result in a slight bounce. The kicker is gas prices. If they hit $4.00 ....all bets are off

In another month, it'll be Clinton's dick, not a hurricane, that did the damage, and Democrats will be the party of looters and fuckups.
