Sometimes little things say the most.

Bush is the one that called this a national emergency 2 days before the storm hit, so he has no excuse to just now show up at the devastation area a whole 3 days after it started, like he didn’t expect any problems, and only because so many people complained.

By now going around hugging people and posing with them on TV he’s not helping the situation, only tying up local resources that could be used to help people that Presidential visits tend to do, while trying to capitalize politically from people’s suffering (nothing new).

Then the most that anyone can squeeze out of his mouth is one word, that the government reaction was just: “unsatisfactory” (yeah that one word mixed in with hours of quotes of congratulations to all kinds of officials for all the wonderful work they’re doing, i.e., all is fine).

Hey FYI the work they’re doing, or not doing, is causing all the death and suffering, not any floods.

Why the hell does he congratulate them? Why doesn’t he chew their asses out and get them moving or fired? (probably because he’s happy with their inaction)

Another little detail I saw in video clips of a long line of buses going to NO to save people.

It’s about time, except there’s one problem with that.

In light of the fact people are dying you’d think somebody could instruct the drivers to step on the gas quite a lot and instruct local cops to get local traffic out of the way to make way for them and oh yes to not issue the bus drivers any tickets (you never know).
