i attended one, many moons ago, but it'll be a while indeed before this beautiful city can celebrate.

i suggest a NATION WIDE FUND RAISING MARDI GRAS, for the victims of nature's wrath.

i'm sure it will happen too, somewhere, on some scale anyway.

let the good times roll!

4. Mobile's Mardi Gras was the first before NOLA.

The Cajun Parishes all have Mardi Gras too (the rural areas west of NO) as well as parts of MS gulf coast. Mardi Gras will go one and hopefully, eventually be held again in NOLA one day.

6. There will be a Mardi Gras in NOLA in 2006. It will be small but there
will be one and I will be there.

7. From now on ...
... every American will have a little piece of New Orleans inside.

The same way we all carry around a little piece of New York City.

This is our country. It will live as long as WE live.

This coming Fat Tuesday, the entire nation should celebrate Mardi Gras -- and the New Orleans that once was and will again be.

10. Hey, you stole my idea!
I was thinking this week about organizing a "Carnival for Caring" or "Carnival for Katrina" this month at school. I have loads of decorations, music, & recipes for easy Cajun food. Set up booths for Mardi Gras tattoos, mask making, asking the PTSO to rent an inflatable, making jester hats, maybe a mini-float contest (with wagons), nominate & vote for Mardi Gras king & Queen, charging small fees for all these to raise money.

What do younze guys think? (Sorry - had to throw in some Pittsburghese!)
