This is going to get bad, I mean really, really bad.
Thousands of people INSIDE the Astrodome in Houston.
Thousands of people OUTSIDE the Astrodome in Houston, wanting to know who's inside.
Friends? Family? Kids? Grandparents? Wife? Husband?
They are not letting anyone in or anyone out.

This is not good.
This is not good because it's about race.
This administration hates poor black people, and it's so freaking obvious.

I'm willing to bet no one that is stranded waist deep in water and feces and dead bodies GOT ONE OF HIS FREAKING TAX CUTS!!

In Houston, buses are rolling up with people who have had no food, water, comfort and they are being TURNED AWAY!
After up to 13 hours on a bus, with some people dying in their seats, unable to sustain the journey.
THEY GET TURNED AWAY.

Get your ass to Dallas or Huntsville or who gives a fuck!
Got no room here.

New Orleans.

There may be 80-100,000 dead when this is all over.
Rumors of cannibalism taking place on the streets.
A great American city DEVASTATED.

Reports that aid was HELD so Bush could get his photo-op.
Red State with Blue leadership and aid is slow to arrive.
Mississippi and Alabama.
Red States with Red leadership sees aid earlier then the poor blacks in Louisiana.

One or two more nights like this...
In New Orleans and in Houston, this could explode into some really ugly situations.

They better get a grip on things and real quick like.
This could get really, really ugly.

God, I hope not.
I'm actually frightened at what we may see over the weekend.
I think the worst may be yet to come for us on this one.

Please, someone tell me I am wrong.
I want to believe I'm wrong.

23. It's getting close, I think. I mean people whose families
are trapped will be the most upset.. but then the folks who are ready to go ballistic over gas prices might be right behind them.

expert on terrorism. He stated that the failure of the federal response to Katrina was inexcusable and that if someone really wanted to hit us hard, this would be the time to do it. It could get much worse.

CONSTRUCTION
Halliburton hired for storm cleanup
The Navy has hired Houston-based Halliburton Co. to restore electric power, repair roofs and remove debris at three naval facilities in Mississippi damaged by Hurricane Katrina. ADVERTISEMENT

Halliburton subsidiary KBR will also perform damage assessments at other naval installations in New Orleans as soon as it is safe to do so.

KBR was assigned the work under a "construction capabilities" contract awarded in 2004 after a competitive bidding process. The company is not involved in the Army Corps of Engineers' effort to repair New Orleans' levees.

They're being roasted everywhere, even by conservatives, for their response to Katrina, and nobody thought to advise the Navy to leave Halliburton the h3ll out of this?

19. Where Pickles was today they said that the little town of
Lafayette was trying to arrange for jobs for the 6,000 people living in that shelter. If they could scrounge up 6,000 jobs at the drop of a hat, where were those jobs last week?

They won't let them OUT of the dome because they don't want to see them looting in Houston. If we just treated them with some dignity in the first place, food, shelter, and sent in some damn therapists to give them a chance to begin grieving their loses, then there would no reason to worry, just yet.

I keep getting that mental picture of that barge of garbage that traveled around for months because they couldn't find a place to dump it. I feel like these people are being treated the same way ... they will just move them and move them and move them until there is no connection to where they started from at all.

Are blacks the new jews? Must these people wander until someone gives them a piece of sand to live in? I am not looking for flames, I am just angry and wondering if this really could be the case?

25. Okay. You're wrong.
At least about two things.

One: The refugees will not wear out their welcome in Houston.

Two: The Astrodome was closed because the FIRE MARSHAL said you can't put any more folks in there.

Only scenario I can think of worse than a riot around the Astrodome is the place burning down with those folks in it.

31. Hey Give, you are NOT wrong
Not in the least. Why should our Republican leadership care about poor brown skinned people?

I am so furious over this - I can't remember the last time I was this angry.

Every time I see the people in New Orleans on my TV screen, I see the kids I teach and the families I have worked with for a quarter century. They might be poor, but they are human beings. Why don't they deserve at least as much as the victims of the tsunami? We raced halfway around the world to save lives in Asia just 9 months ago, yet we can't get to New Orleans in 5 days????

If the Democrats don't at least use the word 'impeachment' when discussing bu$h's piss poor response to this disaster, there is no hope for this country.
