IEA taps emergency oil
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20050902/bs_nm/energy_katrina_europe_wrap_dc

The International Energy Agency (IEA) announced that its 26 members, including the United States, would release two million barrels per day (bpd) of oil over an initial period of 30 days.

"It's self-evident that we support the American bid," German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder told a news conference in Berlin after Washington requested oil aid.

"Whatever the United States asks for they will be given," said EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana.

It is the first release by the OECD group of industrialized nations since 1991 when a U.S.-led coalition ejected Saddam Hussein's Iraqi troops from Kuwait.

1. I hate to say it
but it is for the best right now. I don't have the energy to worry about the long term on that; I'm too emotionally exhausted. Maybe it will help ease the relief efforts...

2. What about Iran's offer to sell U.S. as much oil as they need....
...at $35 per barrel plus a large cash aid which Bush rejected?

3. Good!!! Now get our people out of Iraq!!!
No more men and women dying over there to protect oil from citizens!!! I'm sick of it!!!! There would BE NO civil war over there if the USA would stop protecting their crude!
