"Make you want to puke"...

6. Are any of them Repubs?
Just curious.

I think this charade is too late to save Bush, even with all the media whoring. Bush's presidency will be defined by how he failed to respond to this crisis in the immediate days after, when it mattered most.

20. Aw c'mon. Don't insult drunks like that.
I don't know of any drunk that has fucked up the country as badly as the Chimp has. You're giving drunks a bad name by lumping them in with him. ;)

21. I think they'll be in the minority.
He's not going back up to 90% approval, but he's going to rebound bigtime off this vid that you seem to think is transparently bogus. Sorry, the average person wants to believe in "their" President, and in light of everything that's going wrong in the world right now, they're even more desperate than ever to do so. No, this blows any chance for traction on DSM, Rove/Plame, Iraq, stopping Roberts, etc. Once again, like 9/11, tragedy for the rest of us is a major boon to *.

22. Not this time, buddy. He doesn't look nor sound presidential. He
sounds like a guy way over his head, which is exactly what he is. A total fraud who worked 9/11 to his advantage, but not this time. He's outta here.

23. Here's the missing ingredient: Fear...
After 9/11 people WANTED to believe him because they were afraid. Today, they feel their pity being manipulated.

27. An excellent point.
I think you hit the nail on the head. Dubya used fear to control people (well, those that fell for it anyway) after 9/11 but this is waayyy different.

The picture that elehhhhna posted really gets me. How many thousands more people will we find in the water? Faceless...nameless...victims of Dubya's incompetence. Thanks for posting it though. As hard as they are to look at, pictures like that need to be seen.

24. No, they'll be in the majority
The stories just keep coming. People in a shelter in MS heard that the pResident was in town to review the damage. They were livid. They'd been at the shelter (a middle school) for five days without ONE gov't. aid worker showing up. They've been on their own with help from private citizens and some groups from other states. NOT the gov't. They called Junior out on his photo op. They said it was "obscene."

25. I strongly disagree; this is at most a one-day respite for him
We haven't even heard the worst news yet about deaths. This isn't 2001 when people weren't soured on Bush like they are now.

And Iraq and Plame aren't going anywhere; Fitzgerald is expected to issue indictments soon.
