This is -the- opportunity for the Democrats
Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 11:58 AM by jpgray
Say what wasn't done. But also say what -should- have been done. Point out how many billions of dollars are being funnelled into Iraq, and point out how the NOLA FEMA budget was slashed, and how the Army Corps of Engineers had less than a tenth of the budget they needed to have the levees in working order. Cite the National Geo article that described -exactly- this situation. Not only is Bush's total incompetence and neglect a political goldmine for the opposing party, pointing these things out is the right fucking thing to do at this point. The Democrats can do both that AND use the party resources in any way possible to help those still in NO out.

2. The Dems silence is allowing the neocons to hang themselves.
And they are not making any statements for the neocons to twist, distract, or attack.
I love it.

'Nuff will be said in the long run.

3. I don't care about opportunities
All I care about is that people have food, drinking water, medical care, sanitation, and someplace safe to live. Someplace that can withstand another hurricane as we're not even in the middle of hurricane season.

4. You have to care about both
Because if the same incompetent, uncaring folks remain in power, this could happen again.

5. The Dems opportunity has passed...
They needed to shout from the highest roof tops PRIOR to blivet* landing in NO. Now all the MSM will show it moron* showing concern in his patented rolled up sleeves.

Once again, our spineless Democratic reps have failed us. It's shit like this that makes me just want to give up.

God damn, what do the fucking Democrat congress people need to light a fucking fire on their asses? Here they had the perfect opportunity handed to them to display in all it's glory that moron* has no clothes and what do we hear? Crickets.
