Let's see how the 2nd set of refugees are treated
In about 2 weeks, we will see the next wave. These are the "middle class" who, with plastic in hand and the car gassed up, fled before the storm. They have been camped out in Motel 8s and Motel 6s.. Their credit limits may be about maxxed out, and without a job, the end of the line is approaching. These people will begin making their way back "home" soon to survery the damage.

When they find that their insurance does not cover flooding, and they are likely to get pennies on the dollar and loans instead of real help, they will be wandering too. They will have water, and will not be corralled in a sports stadium, but they will be refugees, just the same.

Their total worth will be that car with what they could stuff into it, a maxxed out credit card or two,and whatever family and friends can toss their way.

The south is famous for low-paying service jobs, and their employers may be eager to cash out with his/her FEMA money, so people who are homeless, broke and jobless are in a real fix..

Where will they live, where will they work?

Will they get help faster than the poor who were abandoned in New Orleans?...Most of these faces will be white..will they be looked down on as being "irresponsible" for not having more savings?
