RAY NAGIN FOR PRESIDENT IN 2008!!!
Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 06:07 AM by Walt Starr
Damnit, this man cares about his people and he's got a righteous fire. He is a no-nonsense kind of man and he'd do a damned sight better at the job of president than any politician anybody would care to name.

This man is looking out for the citizens of New Orleans. I want him looking out for the welfare of ALL AMERICANS!

6. Link to audio.

Follow the instructions. It is very slow to download. Someone said to try saving to disc, then playing. That may be faster. Either way, it is worth the wait.

9. Do you think the country is ready for a president who speaks the..
truth and cares. The people seem to favor someone who can't string a sentence together and doesn't know what the truth is. The same people voted for bush because they felt he would protect them.

10. After this debacle, you're goddamned staight they are!
We've been inundated with "Homeland Security" this and "Homeland Security" that for four years, and the first real world test of DHS turns out to be a worse disaster than the disaster requiring their assistance!

12. Better run from him
He's also a favorite of the business community, and a former Vice-President of Cox Communications. This is his first political job.

Personally I think he's the best mayor in NOLA history.

He wouldn't be any worse than any of the corporate cronies on both sides of the aisle today and he'd be a damned sight better!

14. If he cared so much, why did he not do something before hand
to be sure the poors and the weaks were evacuated?

15. What could he have done?
Some people are set in their place and there probably wasn't enough money to allocate getting people out of their homes. Again, NO is prone to impoverished conditions.

16. SO what is he good for?
Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 07:01 AM by Mass
I am sorry, but whoever put this evacuation plan in place is criminal. And those who did not denounce it are as well!

He could have done a lot of things at the time, starting by making sure that these issues were taken care of.

I am sure he is doing what he can now, as are Blanco and Landrieu, but please, he is no heroe either.

17. He's good for standing up for his people
He didn't have a clear frame of mind, you have to realize he's exhausted as everyone else is. He denounced a lot of things and a lot of people.

What more do you want out of this man??? give him a break, geez.

18. I am talking BEFORE HAND (Long before hand)..
Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 07:06 AM by Mass
I give him all the break he wants now, but please, he is no better than the other ones.

What people want to ignore is that the mess is accentuated by the fact that whoever did this evacuation plan seemed to think that these people were expandable. They could have been evacuated LAST WEEK with the other ones.

Sure he is desperate now and speak loud and I am sure he does all he can, this was not my point.

19. What are you talking about?
Who are you trying to compare him to??

I don't understand your point. I'm not familiar with Nagin or his politics. I'm not saying NAGIN for PRESIDENT but I have a lot of empathy for this man and his city.

20. I have a huge empathy for him and his city too
but read the OP and you will see my point is not that bad taken.

Reread the threads from last week and you will see that this situation was totally avoidable (the NO situation, I mean). Of course, it would have supposed that somebody would have cared a long time before hand that 100,000 families in NO did not have cars and could not be evacuated.

So, I feel terrible for people there and the inaction of the govt. He is doing his job in supporting his people and I would imagine that he is currently in Baton Rouge to help, but did he care about those poor people before hand (and I am not saying he did not, I am asking if those people who started this thread do.
