Man arrested for "stealing" a car in New Orleans.
They arrested a man for "stealing" a car in New Orleans. He had his family in the car (which I believe included young kids). If you had kids and saw babies dying around you (and rescue was no where in sight), would you "steal" a car to try to get your family out of the city?

I guess not wanting your family to die from dehydration or get shot by thugs is a good enough a reason to borrow a strangers car. It's not like he was driving it to a damn chop shop.

3. It must be nice.
Going to jail and having a roof over your head. Food and water. Surrounded by police. I have seen several thousand people that would love to trade places with him right now.

4. What about his family? Where are they?
I don't think having a roof over his head, with food and water was his objective.

5. I remember reading about someone sticking up the Post Office--
--somewhere in LA a few years ago, for the express purpose of going to prison so he could get treated for cancer. Maybe stealing cars in NOLA is a new method of getting food and shelter.

6. Children in handcuffs
I saw similar footage. The police arrested everyone including three or four kids who looked to be five to ten years old and were leading them away handcuffed with plastic garbage bag ties behind their backs.

10. Remember the man in Iraq who had the garbage bag over his head
comforting his crying son??

Sound familiar?? Except this time, it was a child.

Disgusting.

have used it by now to get the heck out of town.

If he took the car at gunpoint from someone else then I think he should have been arrested.

9. You bet ...
and I would go to the ends of the world to find the owner after I was safe.

Imagine if this happened to you ?
