Did an entire series on a major hurricane hitting NOLA back in 2002. They say studies by LSU indicate 100,000 would not be able to be evacuated for various reasons. FEMA had this information when they declared mandatory evacuations.
They knew.
Also in the plan, medical and rescue personnel were to be pre-positioned before the hurricane. None of this was done. Again, all this was recommended to FEMA, three years ago. It's a great article.

1. yes i'm angry abt the national guard

indeed they should have been in place

ppl have died who didn't need to die

homes have been destroyed that didn't have to be destroyed

a friend of mine saw the street where he lives looted on tv, he was on a biz trip, now all he owns is his car

can you imagine

next time ppl won't evacuate because they will want to secure their property

another friend died in the evacuation

& i don't even know the losses yet from the actual storm

this is beyond belief
