Do you think the black people in New Orleans are being punished
Edited on Thu Sep-01-05 07:03 PM by Horse with no Name
by that spiteful little dick-tater for the actions of the Congressional Black caucus in Washington who have made his life uncomfortable in recent months?
Is this payback?

3. The reality
This government, doesn't give a sh*t about the people, least of all Black people. Moreover it's not like the Dems were pushing for anything good before this thing happened. If they cared they would have made sure things were prepared too, or at least put pressure on to make it happen. Instead they're opportunistically tagging it to Bush when they're all responsible for this horror, even if Bush is primarily responsible.

2. They are being punished for being poor and black I believe. We dropped
soldiers into Afghanistan where they conducted searches in some of the roughest terrain in the world. But we can't get food to people in NO after a hurricane? So how hard are they really trying?

6. bush, inc doesn't believe the inaction will have political fallout
so assured are they by the racism of white americans. however, this is really backfiring on the bastards. i just heard a guy on the radio...a two-time bush voter...who is livid about the lack of concern and action.

9. Not only are they being punished
According to Olberman the spin machine is already working the "blame the victim" angle. Apparently Oxy-Cotin boy has started the ball rolling. Olberman took a few nice shots at him though.

11. Poor people are always punished when there are tragedies
because they don't have the resources to protect themselves. We need a new War on Poverty and this time we need to make the reforms stick.

14. No, they are being punished for not voting for Bush.
That's how he and Rove think.

"They didn't vote for me. Fuck 'em."

15. I hate to say it, and it saddens me because
on Keith Obermans's show they just showed alot of people that were safe and saying hello to their families on camera with water and supplies...almost all of them were white.

17. I saw white people and black people helping each other today.
I saw a black lady crying like her heart was broken, because a white lady she was helping along had died! I think this thread was meant to be devisive and to stir up anger!

19. I think you are wrong.
Edited on Thu Sep-01-05 08:19 PM by Horse with no Name
Weren't you the one who also said I was making "too big of a deal" about them putting these people in the Superdome on Sunday too?
Weren't you the one who chided me when I said that wasn't going to be safe?
Yeah. I thought so.
I never accused the people of NO being racist.
But I think our leaders are and I am not afraid to say it.

18. I believe Bush is intentionally dragging his feet on NO.
There's no money in helping poor people. Plus Cheney is probably trying to angle in Halliburton for rebuilding...!
Why else would it take Bush this long, I'm in Fla. Jeb was here the second day, George and Jeb together the third!
