Can we use moral suasion to convince the major hotels to drastically
lower their room rates? Maybe offer less daily service in return, but offer rooms for $30 a night instead of $100?

BTW, my dad was telling me about a motel that doubled their posted room rate to goue these people. They were turned in to the police. The excuse they gave was that they were trying to "keep the riff-raff out."

Mariott could even feed them for free. Sodexho (formerly Sodexho-Marriott Corp.) owns one of the largest food distribution system in the US, distributing to food to schools, universities, hospitals, the military and prisons. Last quarter they saw record profits. http://www.sodexhousa.com/index.asp
