Outrage. Total Outrage.
I'm sickened at the plight of the vitims in New Orleans.

They (the authorities and politicians) knew this was coming. Why didn't the Louisiana's governor have whatever National Guard that she could muster put on alert and ready to move at the first opportunity? Where were the disaster plans for New Orleans? Surely they exist. Why didn't the mayor have someone put them out and get set to implement them? And what about the police chief? Didn't he have plans?

And then there's Bush's total lack of response. He certainly didn't let it interfere with his real business; that of raising money for the party. As Bush dressed in his expensive suit from an exclusive shop, rode in the comfort of his air-conditioned limo or helicopter to his money making event and had a nice luncheon, people were dying in New Orleans because of carelessness and neglect.

And the people. Don't you want to cry when you see the children exposed to heat, lack of adequate water and food? How about the elderly and sick who have died due to an inability to get any help?

That this should happen in America?

Like I said. Outrage. Total Outrage.

4. They might have had all the NG they could get at the Superdome.
It was 1500 on Monday but somehow got down to 500 on Tuesday.

How could they not get supplies to these people? Unbelieveable.

5. Outrage
Cornermouse, you are right. The Mayor and Governor Blankface also did not enforce their "mandatory" evacuation. As I have said in another post, they should have sent out every available vehicle--buses, taxis, vans, trucks--and roamed the streets looking for people who were not able to get out. They could have employed their police to force people out of NO as soon as they knew how serious this storm would be.

I lay the blame (for starters) at the feet of the Mayor, who no longer has a city to run, and the Governor, who probably won't be reelected......
