1. Real life proof of values of the rich & powerful. Protect STUFF first.
People, eveidently, are of no value to the leaders of America

People were going under the water and bush ate cake. He golfed, he sang and played guitar, he raised funds for the GOP and he ate cake.

3. I just did a google search on barges
I found at least 15 pin barges, which can be attached to each other, available for as low as $15,000 per unit.

Add some minor welding to add a generator, a diesel tank, and two freshwater tanks to each one, and you could float them, fully stocked with food, into each neighborhood.

These are small enough to be transported on flatbeds.

And it only took 6 hours to think of it.

4. I'll say this once and only once: The rescuers are scared!
That's why the looting is a problem. Rescuers are scared and it's producing paralysis up and down the chain because there's not enough NG to secure things. It's not about protecting god damned TV's. It's about protecting doctors, paramedics, drivers etc etc etc... they're scared for their lives and THAT is why a total breakdown in lawfulness matters. My god, get a grip. This is about lives.

5. I am not saying they should not send in NG troops to protect the city
I was just talking about logistics. When they drop off troops can't they pick up people?

The post-mortem is gonna be .... well who am I kidding. They'll make any post-mortem take until after the next election and then deliver a watersogged one.

Edit: Well, it was the 2nd poster I really meant to respond to. Sorry! And to poster #7, yes, that's just it, the cops are the ones being forced to attempt to do this job because there's not enough NG to go around.

7. THERE IS NO NG THERE, ITS COMMON POLICEMEN THERE
NO NATIONAL GUARD THERE, ITS THE OVERSTRESSED NO POLICE WHO HAVE TO STOP THE LOOTERS.
