Bush Will Not Ask People Drive 55mph and Conserve Gas! Why??
Sheesh! It is so little to ask of the rest of us to help hold down the shortage of gas, and keep people from running out and pushing up the price to over $4/gal.

Of course if the price of gas does not continue to go up, that will cut into the obscene profits of the oil and energy companies.

2. $$$
His pals want more. Conservation would be for the greater good. They don't do things for the greater good. And they don't conserve anything.

5. Even better
1) Why don't businesses go to a 10x4 workweek. Half the employees get Monday off, the other half get Friday off. The business still gets 10 hour a day coverage, yet half the people normally driving to work are stuck in traffic wasting gas on Monday and Friday

2) Why not make a change to the tax code making weekly, monthly or annual mass transit passes tax deductable?

7. Even if only 1/2 Complied, It would Help Tremendously
we don't need 100% compliance to make a difference.

8. Great question
and I would encourage DU'ers to get off the interstates and onto the state hwy's to conserve gas and to spend their money on America's main streets, instead of the Generica that you find at the end of the exit ramp.

9. School districts should cancel all sports events that involve travel
Diesel is getting damned expensive and districts are already cash starved all over the nation.

And Deisel is needed to move FOOD to stores so people can eat. Truckers are gonna start parking trucks and walking away sooner than not. The whole nation will be hungry soon.

At least pretend to care and ban unessential consumption. Survival of many is at stake.
