Kerry blasts Bush on CIA leak
http://www.dfw.com/mld/startelegram/news/state/6914149.htm

snip

A Democrat from Massachusetts who is seeking the presidency, Kerry said in Dallas that he believes the White House was trying to discredit a vocal Bush critic and leaked information that the man's wife was an agent for the CIA.

He said the White House has stepped deeper into the controversy by noting that Kerry's campaign received a political contribution from the agent's husband, Joseph Wilson, a former U.S. ambassador to Iraq.

"So the White House is saying that because Joe Wilson supports somebody for president, that it was therefore justifiable for them to release the name of his wife as a CIA agent and break the law," said Kerry, who made stops in Dallas, Austin and Houston.

"That's very interesting logic ... I think they've made their own situation worse."

1. I think you are right Senator
That's very interesting logic ... I think they've made their own situation worse.

I think it is rooted in their arrogance. Fools.

3. another snipe at the slimers
``It is simply incredible that even after an official investigation was ordered by the Justice Department, this Bush White House continues to hurl political attacks at Joe Wilson and his family,'' said Kerry (D-Mass.) spokeswoman Kelley Benander.

``This White House has quickly adopted the Nixon administration strategy - if the truth is not on your side, slander the messenger,'' the Kerry aide said.

4. This is a great line of attack for Kerry
Yes, he needs to continue to point out policy differences with other contenders -- ie the middle class tax issue, etc.

But going after Bush's minions for their arrogance and, ultimately, their incompetence is right in the Senator's wheelhouse (ie comfort zone). And as long as some % of Americans still personally like the Shrubman, I think this is the way to go.

Go after Rove, Rummy, then Shrub will fall. Also, I say prop up Colin Powell. Give him alot of credit (which Kerry does, but should in my opinion do more vocally). It will expose the fissures in the administration.

5. One great side benefit of the Plame/Limbaugh contraversies
The level of Dem bashing between candidates and amongst ourselves has subsided. I am quite happy to hear all of the candidates speak out against this administration and it's RW support group as a unfied voice.

Like a saturated solution, I think the titration point is at hand; when that next drip of scandel makes the news, this administration's cohesiveness will become unstable, and I think there will be a nation-wide catalyst against them....
