It's day three. We are approaching the human limit of endurance.

I believe that three days without pottable water is the limit of life for humans.

From this point on the dieing will be enormous. How many tens of thousands were left in the disaster zone? Dehidration and hunger will be taking over and there's nothing that's being done about it.

Still there has been no order to send the NG in to help.

It's now apparent to me that * is a sociopath and has no feeling for anyone but himself. To LET all those people die is beyond criminal to me, it's TREASONOUS. How can even a republican just sit on his ass and do nothing to help that mass of humanity that are in trouble at least partly because he cut the funding for FEMA and levy reconstruction.

I have reached the conclusion that the biggest terrorist we face in this nation is GEORGE W. BUSH!

But three days is where things begin to get dicey. According to the news, most people are off of roofs now. I doubt they'll be anyone left stranded in a location visible from the air by the end of the day.

The rule of three's:

3 minutes : The average time you can survive without breatheable air.

3 hours : The time before you start dying from hypothermia or hyperthermia in a stessful and extreme situation.

3 days : The time before dehydratation can claim your life.

3 weeks : The time before you cannot do any daily necessary task because of lack of food.

9. Has everyone forgooten these two so soon?

South Carolina - Josh Long, 17, and Troy Driscoll, 15, were rescued after surviving six days of being stranded at sea in shark infested waters. Rescuers report the boys as sunburned, exhausted and dehydrated. Otherwise, they were uninjured.  

The pair survived on raw jellyfish while afloat on their 14 foot vessel. They also would swim to cool themselves off, but were ever cautious of the sharks that followed their boat. Both boys stated that they prayed to be rescued.  

The youths gargled sea water to quench their thirst. Their intent was to reach a sand pit while on a holiday at Sullivan's Island, South Carolina when the two drifted outside the area patrolled by the U.S. Coast Guard. A fishing boat crew found them.

That's six days without fresh water. In shady environments, without working, and with temperatures below 70 degrees, humans can survive up to 12 days without water.

That's a source of water, as it happens. Jellyfish are 95% water (I looked it up ;-) ). They aren't usually recommended, given the potential for toxic stings, but it seems to have helped these boys. They also ate seaweed, which has significant amounts of moisture.

The disadvantage for the New Orleans residents is that many who did not evacuate are elderly or ill, and the water all around them is contaminated with chemicals, sewage, and rotting garbage. So finding any kind of vegetation or fish that could provide an alternate source of hydration simply isn't possible.

that's all the longer a person can survive without water. I am so furious they're not flying over the area dropping bottled water. Why can't they do that??????

George W. BUsh is the worst president the USA has ever had. He has taken the USA and thrown it down the toilet. He is a sociopath and this does not bother him a bit. Impeachment proceedings for both him and Cheney should be started, the sooner the better. Or should there be a recall? America needs a new government immediately.
