Who else has never been so FURIOUS?
I am filled with rage.

This is the last straw.

These fuckers stole two elections, ignored warnings about a major terrorist attack, gave massive tax cuts to billionaires, attacked a country that hadn't attacked us, turned the world against us, racked up deficits we will be digging out of for decades, ran our economy into the ground, and cut funding for measures that could have prevented the DROWNING of a major U.S. city.

Then, when the most massive natural disaster in U.S. history comes ashore, this fucking evil joke of a "president" attends fund-raisers, a birthday party, and strums a guitar. Oh, and by the way, there isn't enough help because the people who should be responding are fighting brown-skinned people in a poor country for no good reason.

Days later, this miserable SOB decides maybe he'd better do a little something.

The death of tens of thousands of innocent human lives across the planet can be laid directly at the doorstep of this administration.

I am FURIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3. What I am finding very difficult to comprehend
is the undermining of the local/state government by the federal government.
I find it difficult to believe that this isn't intentional.
They obviously don't have enough people--yet, Bush lackies in FEMA and Homeland Security say they do.
There is a serious breach of trust occurring to the people of New Orleans and the citizenry of the United States.
This is outrage!
It's time for us to do something.

She is incredibly angry. The police guy is on TV now talking about evacuating 1,300 inmates today form the Orleans Parish prison. He's royally pissed off too. They're doing the best they can.

She was angry at the chaos and wanted order to be restored. She wasn't saying anything bad about the food and pampers looters who just need food and supplies, rather, she was angry at the total lawless situation and the shootings and carjackings.

The Bush agenda is exposed as the cynical, bankrupt policy it is. 4 years of "War on Terror" has accomplished what? Made terrorism 10X the problem irt was at a cost of 1000's of lives and $300BB for war profiteers. How could those lives and $ been better deployed? We only have to look at what's happening in NOLA...

36. I think that the tipping point has been reached
or passed with the destruction wrought by Katrina. The Chimperor comes out and mangles some meaningless platitudes while a million people are homeless, unemployed or otherwise distressed by the after-effects of the hurricane, while gas prices go up a dollar overnight.

People don't even have to be paying attention for the effects of all this to sink in. One had to be news-literate and persistent to realize what was happening behind the scenes after 9/11 and in the Iraq war. Now the mass of sheeple can see the results of Chimpy's inaction every time they turn on the news or go to the gas station. And the worst hasn't begun yet.

Weird and terrible times are coming, and I think that in the near future the mob will assemble and begin arming itself with torches and pitchforks. The question is whether they will turn on their true enemies in the BFEE or not.

45. I've had a sort of 'quiet determination' type of anger ever since
the first time I heard the word 'unamerican' come out of the lips of lady in Oklahoma in her 50's. She was referring to some actress who had protested the war publicly on TV. Susan Sarandon I think, I wasn't watching.

I wasn't politically aware, but that kind of statement didn't sit well with em at all. Unamerican?

So I learned about the war. I started to pay attention. I read both sides. And one side's actions looked obviously wrong to me. Then I learned about *. Then I voted against him. It's all been quiet rage from that day forward.

I feel a snap coming.

I have never HATED anyone before, EVER.

The bastard is letting people die! Is he hoping to come in late as a grand savior, sacrificing lives to make it look like things are much better under his control? Does he just not give a fuck? Is he just an idiot?

All of the above?

I've never been so angry in all my life. I'm constantly halfway between rage and hysterical sobbing. Every time I think about those poor people trapped in that city, I think I have a minor panic attack.

And it all goes back to the fact that he cut their funding and played a guitar.

I ran out of expletives last night, over dinner with my husband. The only expression left to me was sobbing.

Isn't it amazing, though, that donations *are* pouring in to relief agencies, even though so many of us are dealing with nouveau poverty ourselves?

54. Count me in ...
I'm angry but it has taken on a despairing flavor. I despair of a country that is not OUT IN THE STREETS in outrage that there has been so little help forthcoming to these people.

On CNN I watched a story in which the (presumably only) helicopter stopped the sandbagging efforts to do some basket rescues. What I've been wondering is why there haven't been a FLEET of 'copters, little boats (it IS Louisiana after all) getting more of those stranded people out?

I am sick...just sick. Nothing surprises me anymore. I try to envision this scenario under Clinton and it's almost like a dream. You know, there would be HELP: food, water, blankets, medicine, temporary housing, non-stop rescue efforts underway, and our President would be every bit on top of things pulling out every stop to get it done ASAP. Being there HIMSELF to reassure people that they would be okay!

Kind of like you expect it to be in America. Oh, never mind.

70. I am apoplectic.
We don't have the people to respond properly to this tragedy because they are all over in Iraq. We won't have the money to pay for the clean up because we gave it all to billionaires already. Meanwhile people are standing on their roofs waving white flags, begging for help because there was no proper plan to evacuate them from a situation that everyone knew was likely to happen at some point.

I go between feeling weepy and then nearly busting a vein.

81. I know this is going to sound so trite, but....
it really helps to go out and DO something about what's making you mad. We have 68 (at last count) storm refugees at a shelter a block from where I work. They are housed at the Methodist church. There are probably 40 or more people in motels nearby.

The people at the church are feeding and sheltering the refugees, getting them medical care, coordinating information and help. They have even arranged to have the children start school, and if they don't have school supplies, that's taken care of, too.

I went to a meeting today where the refugees were begged not to be ashamed to ask for help - people WANT to help. One company manager said he could take some people who wanted to work on as temps.

One person is letting a family stay at a deer camp, and I know of at least two families who have taken in people who need shelter.

This afternoon we found a man staying in a hotel who left home without his medication. It was too late to get him to a clinic, so we took him to the emergency room, where he was treated, and we got him and is friend dinner.

No, it doesn't fix much of anything. But it makes me feel better. ....Until I realize that I'm doing more than my president to help the victims.

Don't say it doesn't fix much of anything... when you save a single life, you save the world. What you and your friends are doing is wonderful.

to this disaster. I just cannot express the anger that I am feeling toward this regime. As a white person, I cannot help but feel the slow response is because the majority of those stranded and suffering are black and poor. I hate to say this. I hate to think that this is happening in 2005. I just feel to the depth of my being that this would be different if the citizens were white and well-off. I hate, hate, hate to think that this is my government.

As for the looters, we must think that they are dealing with life and death issues. They are desperate at this time.

125. So Am I
This has been building for years with me. I have been watching the slow rise of the neocons with disgust. At one time, those f***s almost made me want to kill myself, & this was before GW came into office. Because of what they have done to the economy (downsizings, flat wages, expensive healthcare, outsourcing, etc.), I feared that I would never make it. The stress got so bad that I eventually just wanted to end it all. I went for help instead, but now I wonder if I made the right decision. Isn't that awful? Anti-depressants are all that keep me going now. So you can imagine that I have "unfinished business" with the neocons. All I live for now is to see those neocons go down in flames. I want them to pay for all the misery they have caused. I want them to pay for all the lies they have told about people on the left. I want them to pay for their lack of compassion. When they finally do pay, it will be the happiest day of my life.

Tammy

128. I have to say, being down here in the middle of it
when we heard (on the radio, our only source of info)
his first, then second speech
in which he spent 30 seconds saying how much he cares
then launched into some wierd tirade about terrorism
it made us want to throw up

he is useless

...but ever since I visited, I loved it so much that it took a special place in my heart.

Watching Nero** literally do NOTHING while this great city sinks has left me beyond furious.

Now it's personal.

The Bush Cabal has marched us this country (and others) into misery and suffering that I've never seen in my 50 years of life.

137. I've been angry since he stole the first election.
But you know what was the tipping point for me? The absolute, screaming, throwing things crying tipping point? The cake and the widow on the highway. The cake-I mean, how fucking DARE he? (And McCain is a thoughtless c**t for that, too-don't they have news reports in Arizona? I expected better from him. I was wrong.) People are hungry, wet, sick, drowned-and this fuck is licking his fingers? And the widow in the highway. That made me cry. Her husband is dead, wrapped in old clothes, lying under a bench. She said she tried to flag down some help. No one stopped. Then, when the police finally did stop, they told her to move that, because the smell was becoming offensive. God Almighty. I'm sick at heart and soul and if this doesn't get rid of this Administration, then there is no hope. If this doesn't wake the country up, nothing will.

It seems like I can't stop shaking my head at all this chaos. I'm mentally tired - if I wasn't, I would probably be very very angry.

I'm an easy-going guy, but I've had a high anger level since the 2000 general election -- it's been one right-wing travesty after another since then.

I cannot stand the very sight of the thing that passes (in the media, anyway) for our president. He and his ilk represent the worst of humanity: bottomless greed, unspeakable cruelty, heartless insensitivity, utter cluelessness.

2008 cannot come quickly enough! :grr:

145. Literally trembling with rage.
Tuesday I read this:

Tuesday, August 30, 2005

CORONADO, California (AP) -- Facing a public increasingly wary of his war policies, President Bush declared Tuesday that America cannot rest until its freedom is secure and likened his spreading-democracy vision to Franklin D. Roosevelt's.

Commemorating the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II, the president drew comparisons between that 20th-century conflict and current wars on terror and in Iraq.

"As we mark this anniversary, we are again a nation at war. Once again war came to our shores with a surprise attack that killed thousands in cold blood," he said at a naval base here, referring to September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

He said that as in the time of World War II, the United States now faces "a ruthless enemy" and "once again we will not rest until victory is America's and our freedom is secure."

more here: http://edition.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/08/30/bush.ap/index.html

After I read that, the rage started. (Well, I've had the rage for a long time, but this fanned the flames to the boiling point.)

Then I turned on Countdown and saw a man telling of how his wife was literally torn from his arms by the flooding waters and now he and his sons have no idea of where she is.

After I saw that, the trembling started.

Today, also on Countdown, a girl of about four was shown calling to anyone who passed by to help her push a stranded car. The girl was standing (somehow) on what looked to be wood floating in the water. The man with her was old, appeared to be in shock, probably her Grandfather, and they needed help pushing their very old car out of the water. It was probably all they have left in the world. The little girl started crying, begging someone, anyone, to come and help them. The camera crew, in a BOAT, sat there for the longest time, filming away. Then all of a sudden you heard the motor of the boat start up and off they went, leaving that poor child and her Grandfather to fend for themselves.

Then the tears started and they won't stop.

I have never felt such rage in my life. No one had better dare to come up to me and say something nice about *. I'd blow my top and make a mine field look like a walk in the park.

I could not sleep last night. Nightmares about that man and his missing wife. Tonight I'll probably be screaming in my sleep about that little girl.

Hell is not hot enough for * and his evil cabal.

146. Add this to the pot:
Funding cuts - the money went to Homeland Security and the Iraq War - are responsible for the vulnerable levees that broke in New Orleans and drowned the city.

The Bush Administration has REFUSED Canadian search/resue aid to hurricane victims.

And there is still more. Read this opening post and the rest of the thread and you'll see more of just how unspeakable this REALLY is.

Thread title: CNN/New Orleans:"Mayor blasts failure to patch levee breeches" and that's {only the beginning}:

Ever wonder why OUR National Guard is over being shat at while here we have clueless Pentagon-directed military for this emergency? That is part of it, was planned by the Bush administration, and is part of why things are so terrible now.
