Why have gas prices been going up so high?
Excuse my ignorance. I haven't read anything describing why the high gas prices are happening now. If we have reached peak oil I could understand it. Is this just another raise for the oil corporation ceo's. Is china billions of people buying more cars causing this. Is turmoil in the middle east? Anyone??

I have started to ride my bicycle to work. I can save a lot of dough doing this every day.

3. Because it's OK to shoot 'looters' but price gougers and profiteers are
left to go about their business as usual.

6. Its The Futures Market
Look, today's shortage of gasoline is due to refinerys being off line. That, however doesn't have shit to do with $75 a barrell oil. In fact when refinerys are not working the demand for raw oil decreases, and in a sane world the price of oil would actually go down because of a storm like Katrina.

What is driving up the price of oil is speculation in the futrues market based on trumped up demand which has NEVER actually shown up in the market place. You know all that hyped Chineese-led (with India as a secondary player) dramatic increase in world-wide demand that supposedly begain back at the beginning of the year? Well, it never actually materialized. The Chineese did not actually buy the oil which was supposed to account for the increased demand.

7. I think this question should be
On the forefront of everyone's list of complaints. You hear so many reports and yet none are very directly conclusive. You hear some oil honchos talk about the fact that peak oil is not here at all, and everytime they think they may be running out, they find some more to drill.
How stupid are the folx that voted for Bush to think that this has nothing to do with his profiteering buddies and his own profits as well??? One of the head Exxon guys actually had/has a position working in the WH. How suspicious is that? I mean come on folks.
The Exxon Exxpose link Rocks!!! We should all sign it and spread it like wildfire!!! How long are we going to let these assholes get away with screwing us all? I for one, like to be kissed first!!!

.....But one question that really puzzles me the most is...how much money do does one greedy asshole really need? For example- The Exxon guy. I mean, when I think about winning the lottery, I realize that 1 million might not be quite enuf( to really rest comfortably) all things considered- but anything over that would be!! I mean several million dollars is a huge amount of moolah- so when you're talking BILLIONS!- I mean- Do you really live better on Billions instead of several millions- I mean come on!! ... In the end, after pulling one's hair out- u have to just plain feel sorry for these Greedy Ass Billionaire guys....they obviously can't have fun without huge profits- I was always taught the best things in life are free!!!
