WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

I just got off the phone with my daughter's school and I am trying to convince them to start a drive for personal items and snack foods for the displaced people of NO. I told the Principal to call the district and get them involved. This is Spring Branch ISD.

If there is anyone in Houston who wants to call their school's district and see if they will participate, it would be wonderful. If we get a lot of the schools to do this, we can make a difference in the lives of the people who are in the Astrodome.

Any ideas or suggestions, most appreciative. Houston Texas cares about the people of NO and we will take care of them......

1. Yes, Houstonians will have to step up the plate.

I just heard they are sending the Superdome refugees to the Astrodome.

2. You might want to also consider

books, toys and games for the children, board games and cards, toiletries. The Red Cross has many evacuees in a shelter near our neighborhood and that is what they need. They have a lot of bored people over there who can't work and won't be doing anything else soon!

Oh, and why not post this in the TEXAS forum to get to more local DU'ers.

6. Houston Children's Hospital

Is taking all the injured and sick children from NO hospital. Houston is stepping up to the plate. I am glad to see it....
