both the House and the Senate. Is there any activism out there to block this, petitions, anything? I believe we should fight it. We don't need a patriot act. This Act has taken away much of our Constitutional rights in a very fascist way, and has nothing to do with Freedom or Patriotism, but repression and scapegoating of targeted groups. We don't need it to keep us safe from terrorists. We do need to squash it to keep us safe from Bush Oil, Inc.

I know that in general there's a lot of ongoing "dislike" of it, to understate the case something on the order of "the galaxy is bigger than a subatomic particle."

3. Both houses of Congress are fighting over the details

I think it should be tombstoned period. Hitler got something similar after the Reichstag fire, which essentially set the stage for Nazi Germany because all of the rights of the Republic were signed away. I was hoping there was a activist movement out there that is focused on stopping it.
