Will FAUX pick up Savage?
this was suggested possibility on another board. Is anything too low for them?

1. no
I see no reason why they would. If they had any interest in him, they could've signed him long before MSNBC did. Furthermore, with the way his ratings tanked, there's no incentive to pick him up.

2. I'm sure Weiner will bellyache
about how he was somehow "railroaded by the liberal thought police" or some such blather.

I'm convinced that Savage and Coulter are so thoroughly repulsive that in the long run they do more harm to conservatism than good.

5. I've been thinking that too...
... I mean really, are most Americans really ready to accept the idea that McCarthyism was just all right? Has it really come to that?

I can't help but think that the more rabid RW commentators and pundits are hanging themselves with their own rope.

9. In which case....
we should do the ultimately subversive thing and do whatever we can to keep them in the public eye.

3. giving him a shot...
.... seemed to me like a desparation move on MSNBC's part anyway. I have a feeling he's shot his TV wad.

4. Well, maybe some things are too low for FAUX...
Got this from FAIR a couple of minutes ago. Weiner had promised to tone things down when MSNBC picked him up, but he obviously didn't keep that promise. After this, the guy should be toast, even for the Murdock crew. They may like rightwingers, but they don't like trouble.

ACTIVISM UPDATE:
Savage Fired by MSNBC

July 7, 2003

Michael Savage's MSNBC show, The Savage Nation, was cancelled today
because of homophobic remarks made by the host on the July 5 edition of
the show, according to an Associated Press (AP) report. Those
comments--labeling a caller "a sodomite" and telling him to "get AIDS and
die"-- were the subject of a FAIR action alert earlier today.

MSNBC spokesperson Jeremy Gaines told AP, "His comments were extremely
inappropriate and the decision was an easy one."

Over the past five months, FAIR activists have written more than 2,000
individual letters to MSNBC expressing their concerns about Savage's
record of bigotry and hate, and criticizing the network for hiring a host
who routinely traffics in slurs while firing host Phil Donahue over his
anti-war views.

Savage can still be heard on some 300 radio stations across the country.

7. So is he going to blame THAT on Symbolman's wife?
For those who don't know, he sued Symbolman's wife for inciting others to boycott his sponsors. Guess he does a good job of inciting them himself.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

6. Of course not.
His ratings were miniscule and not up to the level that anyone will pick him up again for any TV gig.

10. Let's email MSNBC and suggest they hire David Duke
He could host his show from his jail cell.
