I'm worried that because of hurricane Katrina that oil companies will use this to justify $3.50 to even $4/gallon gas prices. Am I a worrywart or could this happen?

Let's see Oil went up by 30% and the price went up by 80% as a result. . . They're milking us for all they can. Make no mistake, if they can get away with more, they will try.

6. Technically, it won't be gouging...
because price will reach $70 by Friday. This hurricane is gonna raise hell with pipelines and refining.

7. There are bunches of refineries around New Orleans
And Baton Rouge. You can bet several of them will be shut down for repairs. Supply drops, price rises. it is inevitable.

8. And once the gas prices go up, then food and other
products that require transport will have price increases as well.

and I am surprised it hasn't happened already. AS one old enough to have lived through the '70s oil embargo, I can see what's coming, and it ain't pretty.

12. Why should we worry about the "possibility" when it's already happening?
chimp's pals (big oil) are making mega-profits just like they were promised. Wake up, smell the coffee.
