Limbaugh on McNabb: "I must have been right"
This from ESPN.com.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=1627991

Limbaugh didn't back down from his comments during his syndicated radio talk show Wednesday.

"All this has become the tempest that it is because I must have been right about something," Limbaugh said. "If I wasn't right, there wouldn't be this cacophony of outrage that has sprung up in the sports writer community."

2. Hmmmm, lemme see if I've got this straight...
If he was spouting off to millions of people about something like this, and was incorrect in his musings, it wouldn't be a big deal and nobody would be saying anything, is that it? Is this guy on the same planet as the rest of us?

3. more bizarro logic
Lott didn't back down from his comments at the birthday celebration for Senator Strom Thrumond.

"All this has become the tempest that it is because I must have been right about something," Lott said. "If I wasn't right, there wouldn't be this cacophony of outrage that has sprung up in the political community."

Yep, makes as much sense.

8. Uh huh - just keep telling yourself that, Rushie...
...you're a hate-filled, ignorant gas-bag and a wholly-owned court jester buffoon for the RNC.

And if you get mad at that, I must be right.

Hey, this logic works for O'Reilly, too! He's AWFULLY mad lately...

10. What dump fucking logic
If you say something that gets people outraged that doesn't mean you must be right, it just means you managed to piss of some people over stupid comments. These anti-war hollywood celebrities said stuff that sparked outrage, does he think they are right?

11. Odds are he was compleately wrong
e e cummings used to do things like that, be compleately disagree about something to stir up the best and most emotional retort from the opposition. The difference is, Rush is stupid, and didn't know you get a better (or at least more) reactions out of people when you are totally wrong.

12. Folks, Rush Limbaugh has Jumped the Shark
When he is starting to see a "liberal media" conspriacy at ESPN, you know the man is deserate. The fact is unless he has the stage to himself with no opposition, Rush is out of his league.

13. ESPN has apparently written off African-Americans as an audience
I would be interested in knowing who their target demographic is, in terms they use to describe it to advertisers. Boiled down, wouldn't it have to be "Stupid White Men"? (Apologies to ESPN viewers on DU, of course that doesn't include you ;) )

Best baseball show period, and they don't taint it by putting on some right-wing blowhard shill.

16. I enjoy watching NFL Sunday Countdown
because of Berman and Jackson. I also liked the additions of Young and Irvin but not Rush, atleast it is just Berman and Jackson on NFL Primetime which is my favorite show. Jackson can break down a player, play, or game better then most people.

17. NFL Primetime is good
Probably the best highlight show for any sport period. I would say NFL Countdown is good but I refuse to watch it now. Actually NFL pregame shows are usually pretty lousy. Fox's pregame show is more entertainment than information. Terry Bradshaw is not a very good analyst at all, nothing against him but he doesn't bring much to the table.

22. I like a little entertainment in pre-game shows
I never watch the Fox one, but I do like College Gameday, the fans behind the set booing when you say something good about another team that is in the same conference, Lee Corso is entertaining, and other things. But there are anaylysts and breakdowns of the Nation's big games with just enough entertainment in it.

26. Berman ?!?!
Come on now, I know you are young, but Berman? He became passe years ago - greedy and so full of himself and his "cute" nicknames for players.

And ESPN proved their greed too by hiring the Pig Boy (I think it was a move by Disney to get the repugs back after having been boycotted for having Gay Days at Disney World). Those corporate CEOs would take anybody anyway they can as long as it brought them $$$$!

Tom Jackson is good, and so was Sterling Sharpe, but I haven't watched ESPN for years (occassionally will flip to it, but NOT anymore).

Sad thing is most of these pre-game shows are too full of egos - and what they say and talk about is more about them (they try to be funny, sexy, serious, etc.) than the game in most cases.

27. I like the way
Chris Berman calls a previously played game, and his little nicknames he gives players his a reason, so are the sound effects he does when Mike Allstot(I know that isn't spelled right) is breaking tackles, or the "he could go all...." he does when a player is breaking a big one. Don't make the fact that I am young an issue, I hate it when people do that. I didn't have a problem with Rush on there as long as he didn't bring up RW talking points, but now since he said these comments I want him fired, say what you want about Berman, I like him.

18. Ratings are up
ESPN is seeing this as 'at least people are talking about us' and most likely people are tuning in to see Rush make an ass of himself. Pretty soon he'll pull a real Jimmy the Greek though and ESPN will have to spend a year cleansing itself of Rush's taint.
